Re: a comment on For Elizabeth, Wherever She May Be by wilco 4-Nov-06/9:08 AM
Thanks. To be honest, I absolutely hate this song now. I'm not sure if I think it sucks r if I'm just tired of it at this point but I do...I really do.
Re: a comment on Monsters by wilco 4-Nov-06/9:07 AM
I'm sure we will if we can get ourselves signed. If not, there's probably not much hope of it. Spread the word so we can make it happen.

I understand the poem. I'm not stupid. I was saying that giving it a different score simply because it's in one category and not the other might not make sense.

Re: a comment on Rare Oul' Times in the County Wicklow by Edna Sweetlove 3-Nov-06/1:22 PM
We'll see. Really and truly it was a swipe at the ignorant fuck above talking about "murderous troops". I get so tired of people lambasting the American troops for being over there. If you don't like Bush and the war, fine (I don't either), but don't talk shit about those kids who are dying for you.

When you write something that is halfway worth a shit I'll value your opinion.
Re: The Pit’s Bottom by Dovina 2-Nov-06/6:45 PM
You know I don't like these poems that are oozing Jesus all over me...so you'll forgive me if I hold my vote.

The Blues Highway...drive it every day.

Yeah, I'd call this a lyric..it reads like one and as a free verse I'd probably only give it a 5...but as a lyric it's an 8. Doesn't make sense? Sorry.
Re: a comment on Fare Price (Final Version) by Wakeboarder20 2-Nov-06/6:33 PM
I'll never understand all these poverty stricken people giving all the money they can to the church so their pastor can drive a Lexus. Sad.
Re: Jesus Around Your Neck (Final Version) by Wakeboarder20 2-Nov-06/6:31 PM
You know what the bad thing about something like this is that you're condemning the condemners ;)

I agree with your thought here but when you're lambasting someone like this, you're really just mirroring the way they are.

I like this except for the title.

I suppose we should sit around drinking tea and not brushing our teeth and just let any old ass-hat dictator do whatever he wants.

Tell you what: Next time someone invades your pussy little country, we'll just let them enslave you and rape your people and have a jolly-good time. And it's going to happen sooner or later.
Re: The Hunter, the Hunted, and the Bystander by Dovina 2-Nov-06/6:13 PM
how about "it's tire like that big-ass boulder from Raiders of the Lost Ark that almost ran over Indiana Jones at the beginning."
Re: Footsteps by MacFrantic 2-Nov-06/6:10 PM
Okay, I'll buy that as a decent poem.
Re: The Willy Poem by Engelbert Humpalot 2-Nov-06/6:07 PM
What kind of ignorant shit is this. Jesus Christ I should've stayed gone.
Re: Someone Who’ll Know by Miggy 6-Jul-06/9:36 PM
Good grief Miggy, you'd think that as long as you've been doing this, you'd be getting better at it.
Re: A man’s life (My Life) by lol 6-Jul-06/9:32 PM
First, the gramatical errors in this are downright terrible and make it extremely hard to read. I understand the point you're trying to get across, but your thoughts aren't cohesive. It's like yuo just though of a line, wrote it down and then forgot what you were driving at. I'm guessing you're young. Try reading some other poetry to get an idea of how to structure and write. Also, work on your grammar because the way this is now, it just doesn't make a lot of sense.

Also, if you want people to read and comment on your poems, don't you think it would be courteous to read and comment on some other people's works yourself?
Re: Patio 95 by ecargo 5-Jul-06/8:05 PM
Damn, I really like this and don't even know why.
Re: canada day by Bill Z Bub 5-Jul-06/7:53 PM
The spacing works okay and there's something I like about it...still, just not overly impressed with this one Mr. Devil.
Re: a comment on Astronomy and Pharmaceuticals by wilco 5-Jul-06/7:43 PM
We actually recorded two others when we recorded "Elizabeth" but my lead guitarist is having a bout of retardation in coming up with his parts so they are still being recorded and mixed. Hopefully they;ll be up soon. I'm going to try to record this one and Dashboard Jesus sometime in the next couple of weeks. Dashboard Jesus will probably be just me and my guitar, a'la Death Cab for Cutie's "I Will Follow You Into the Dark".

Thanks for your interest.
