very nice indeed.
this is the weakest point:
~
A tempter who could speak
without debate,
his opinions most convincingly.
How he would talk--on and on
incessantly,
~
ironically, the language is not convincing.
i particularly like the way you begin this poem--as though your mask is a stranger. it does feel that way, at times. remember that you are the fabricator and the fabricatee.
perhaps old age, and wisdom help us meld the two.
i will not rank until you convince me. nice effort.

why call it a villanelle when it's not? you've played that trick once already. it's not as funny the second time around.
but i like the poem.

actually, both of my sisters were on that show. i dropped the competitive thang early on, so i never even tried to. they got shorted too. it's a fucking conspiracy, h. um, i mean baba. here, help me get him down. <they ease hector to the floor, and begin to kick him. he scampers away and returns almost instantly with a shaker of grey goose martinis. shamed, we lavish him with praise, and continue our interview.>
*wish 1: i would wish for a smart, kind man, who acts based on truth and gets my jokes. one who puts up with me and doesn't kick me out or leave.
wish 2: "o give me land lots of land under starry skies above...don't fence me in"...i'd run a wildlife preserve, if i could.
wish 3: i will hang onto my 3rd wish, until i need it. i don't need anything more than what i have right now, and needing and wanting are incredible disparate modalities, wouldn't you agree, baba?
*(revised, after consulting with my friend who has been lucky enough to find a partner who suits him)

shcared? i'm nbot shcared of nuthin'. (she slurs, but inside, she's saying 'heights! good lord, heights! how the fuck can p&k be so damn excited about that bungee jump? shit you'd have to bind me to get me near the edge, never mind harnessed in) but alound, she just says 'rollercoashtersh!" (even though she loves rollercosters, and is not afraid of them at all, not even the ones where your feet dangle, and you're 90 million stories up, 'cuz that part's over really quickly, and you're swirling and sweeping and pounding and looping and generally defying gravity with the help of a little speed...) "i love...rollercoashtersh!"
myth, schmith. i'll finish tomorrr....zzzz.
<hello, baba? this iz z's unconscious mind speaking. sorry about that. she still can't hold her liquor. yes, that's why she sticks to beer and wine, mostly. yes, i promise, she'll finish your questions tomorrow. no, maybe it'll be sunday. yeah, she is going to DC to march for peace. she never did anything like that before. her hippie friends arn't even going! they said it's too cold to protest war in iraq. oh well. she's a stubborn fuck, she is. no, don't worry, she's not driving 6 hours all alone. hatter's hare is going too. in fact, it was her idea. talk to you soon, schweetheart. xo, z)

thanks for cleaning that up for me, sweetie.
i hate that dunkin donuts commercial that has an alarm clock in it. thankfully, they have stopped airing it. i really don't watch much television. never really home. i'll watch forensics, travel channel, or the dead zone if i am.
my favorite cereal is golden grahams. with apple juice instead of milk. but, i never eat cereal anymore. or bread, much really. i eat a lot of vegetables, and i eat more chicken any man ever seen. yeah.

green. 8. (reserves answer for later). e. 1313 mockingbird lane.
a room with a view. "truth! beauty! love! he screams as he falls out of the tree" plus there's male full frontal.
<Hector! if i've told you once...if the guest wants a mortini, ask them how many olives! don't just assume they want 8! damn you boy! yes, baba, you may do the honors. here's the crop...>
my user name? ah, zzinnia...drought resistant summer flower. glowing red. tall. proud. lasts forever, even when cut. heart shaped leaves. so many metaphors, only one flower.
no, please, don't. <eet is an-ee-mal! hector chuckles from the gravity boots.>

yes. heavily. drinking, that is. so nice of you to join me this evening. no, of course i don't mind, in fact, i'm flattered you'd go to such lengths to get the interview.
hmm, let's see, what do i do for a living? well, for the sake of keeping me living, i get in as much music as possible. took up the fiddle this year you know. (yes, yes! another dringk for the lady and myself. (YES! OF COURSE DOUBLES!) sorry, baba, so hard to get good help these days.
where were we? oh, yes, living. and out-of-doors--absolutely necessary to take it all in. love the smell of wet earth. it's a diifcult time for me, winter. especially since the electro-shock therapy, you know, to stop the addiction. to sex. you saw it on the news? i thought so. who didn't, really. perhaps if i had left the boyscouts alone... but they had such a bad rap for all that homosexuality lately, and well, i was just doing my part, i thought. funny how many of them weren't prepared. they are now, though.
poets. 5 of them?
1. emily d-- obviously.
2. e.e.--the man knew the language inside and out, and i hate him and love him for the things he did with it.
3. walt whitman--was there ever a bigger ego? a man so enamored of his way of being? i wanna party with that cowboy!
4. lewis carroll for the worlds he created. nonsense words like those in jabberwocky--marvelous display of form and function and feeling fusing! amazing.
5. shakespeare. not often thought of as a poet--the man could turn a phrase to make your head spin. more so in his plays than his poems, but zounds! he was gut.
okay, you asked another question here, right? ah, yees, favorite places---
1. lost lake, westwood trails, cockaponsett state forest, guilford, ct. i hike here.
2. york harbor, maine
3. grasmere
4. prismatic springs
5. grand canyon
i think you see how they are linked? i don't much care for cities, baba. see you at the next question, dear.
yes, the ladies' room is upstairs, 1st door on the left. you have to jiggle the handle after you flush.
