Re: The Only Solution by Angelofpain25 21-Aug-02/3:39 PM
There is no hell. There is no hell. There is no hell. There is no hell. There is no hell. Kill yourself. It's the only solution. The only problem is, you're too weak. You weak, worthless nobody. Only kidding! have a great time on poemeranker!!
Re: Awesome Heir by Shin-Bojangles 21-Aug-02/3:36 PM
Shin-Bojangles: It doesn't matter whether elves are, "in fact", the most dangerous things on the face of the earth. Males with pointy ears who gallop around on horses and sing about Elbereth are pussies in my book. Think about it; if any human males did it in the actual world then they would undoubtedly be pussies (other things being equal). The world Ultimate Fighting champion would be a pussy if he wore a velvet dress on weekends and sang along to Cyndi Lauper in a karaoke bar. My point is that being a pussy can shine through even in the face of fighting ability. And I'm really, really, really, really sorry if someone objects to my use of the term "pussies", but it's a perfectly standard use of the word, and unless you can think of a better way to convey the idea then stop bitching. But aside from the fact that they're pussies, I don't think I'd be thinking anything about their elegantness or fierceness. The "contrast" of "elegant" and "fierce" is possibly one of the least interesting things ever. What is people's obsession with trite "constrasts"? I swear sometimes I think I'm going to explode. Powerful yet gentle. Innocent yet wicked. Elegant yet fierce. It's not that amazing. It's a common occurrence for something to have apparently-contrasting properties, especially in wish-fulfilment fiction (not that I'm saying LOTR is wish-fulfilment fiction. Just that a lot of people treat it that way). Why this is seen as so 'special' or 'magical' or 'beautiful' or 'wonderful' (not that you implied any of those things) is beyond me. I can of course see why it's appealing, and I think I can see why people become obsessed with things that incorporate particular kinds of contrasts, but "elegant yet fierce" is something straight out of a 14-year-old girl's diary, and for grown men and women to obsess over elves just because they're "elegant yet fierce" is insane. And, of course, they're fictional, which is another reason why it's so despicable. As for you, you silly tart god'swife: if you aren't another one of horus8's incredibly stimulating alter egos, allow me to explain something to you: I was well aware of the semantic tension between 'androgynous' and 'pussies'. I left it in because a) the use of the word 'pussies' is non-literal, b) the sex organs of the female are not themselves male or female, and c) I didn't think anyone would do anything so incredibly facile as point out the tension. My mistake.
Re: Awesome Heir by Shin-Bojangles 21-Aug-02/2:02 PM
What, because they're aloof, sensitive, androgynous pussies? How silly of me not to notice sooner.
Re: Awesome Heir by Shin-Bojangles 21-Aug-02/1:56 PM
I fucking hate elves.
Re: Lincolnshire by longships 21-Aug-02/10:54 AM
This doesn't evoke Lincolnshire at all. Where are the rape fields, the thunderflies, the line of power stations along the Trent valley?

Nothing important or interesting distinguishes you from anyone else of your age, race, sex and nationality. Go away and do not return.
Re: American Haiku 2 by memorybabe 20-Aug-02/7:36 AM
Whenever someone titles something 'American (whatever)', I always think of that fucking godawful thing, 'American Symphony' (or whatever the fuck it was) at the end of 'Mr. Holland's Opus' (a bluey for shitdicks, so I've heard). 'American' is, in my opinion, the smuggest, tritest, meaningless and most sickening adjective of all time, especially when applied to something which is supposed to be 'beautiful'.
Re: Dear Ms. Sexton by <{Baba^Yaga}> 20-Aug-02/7:31 AM
I hope everyone who uses this site explodes. It's all your fault, horus8. You weren't content with being a peddler of vaguness under one name; you use at least 3 or 4 that I know of, and all that's happened since then is people are confused since they don't know who to desperately suck up to and who to smugly but ignorantly condemn. How is the Gentry supposed to command the Peasantry if there is not even a semblance of order? You are a cad, Sir. Moreover, you are a talentless cad. And as for you, 'christof', could there be anything worse than someone who one minute smugly and knowingly drops a name in lieu of actual criticism and then gushes over whatever the fuck pops up next on his screen? I think there could. However, it would just be what I have just described but with a poo on top. Good day to you, Sir.

Re: fear by pitchblackdisaster 16-Aug-02/4:47 PM
Honestly "fbab"... you write a poeme about thoughts that dwell deep, try to capture people, and are fear itself, and you claim it's not about Cthuluhulhllulhuhuhlu? For shame!
Re: esopus creek by unknown 16-Aug-02/4:40 PM
I'd drop the second line (lol! "I thank you"). Or at least change it. I don't think fish 'wriggle'. I'm also not too sure about the part about the saplings 'trying to reach up'. I'm not sure that writing about saplings struggling to grow is very relevant. Though I suppose if it helps describe the scene then leave it. I don't know really. Other than that I thought it was quite a good poeme.
Re: love song by <~> 16-Aug-02/4:31 PM
poemeranker fuck no poetandknowit the music of bands that seem to write the same song over and over again is for two kinds of people: adolescents and monomaniacs. I cannot defend the tastes of the first, and even the second, but equally I cannot condemn the second. For often do our finer moments in life come from a short or sustained bout of monomania? How many times have you obsessed over something and therein gained the greatest satisfaction? I have done so many times. Of course, obsession has equal love for disappointment; but is not the lowest Hell nothing when placed next to highest Heaven? When something worms and lodges into that part of your brain labeled 'special', there's no way to avoid obsessing on it, or at least falling into a sort of stupor when presented with anything to do with it. And I believe it's commonly said that obsessions form in childhood. So blame not the people who listen to this music, nor those who create it, but the despicable parents who allow their children to find such FILTH special.
Re: love song by <~> 16-Aug-02/1:15 PM
horus8: Did you write the lyrics to 'Comfort Eagle' by Cake? Which of their songs did you write lyrics for? Or have you simply turned our beloved poemeranker into a House of Lies?
Re: Waiting For You To Call (vulgar language) by PK 16-Aug-02/12:45 PM
This poeme contains so many instances of the word 'fucking' that it actually pulls itself back from the precipice of adolescent turmoil. I especially like the second verse. I do not like the third and fourth verses, though. Consider replacing them with 'You stupid fucking bitch/You fucking, fucking bitch/You fucking fucking fucking fucking/fucking fucking bitch.
Re: dorm life by unknown 16-Aug-02/12:42 PM
What, in College?! You, sir, are a scoundrel and a mountebank! I suggest that you pack up your things and leave at once. As for the poeme, my opinion is that there are far, far too many 'young women' who think that a) faux-kissing another young woman for a dare is sexy, b) that it is original, c) that it is at all daring, d) that it is meaningful, and e) there isn't an e), because a) to d) were so great. It is not weird. Just depressing. But hey, that's just my opinion! Have a good one!
Re: Pissing Rant by brazen 16-Aug-02/12:32 PM
"Fuck off you fucking pirate" wins the First Annual -=Dark_Angel=- Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Field of Excellence (the other guy who nearly won it failed to confirm certain details). horus8, think of your own imaginary vessel of praise that isn't an award, you fagin.
