Re: A Poem For George Bush by Edna Sweetlove 2-Aug-06/2:58 PM
It was reported that "Angola became the top source of crude imports to oil-hungry China last month, replacing Saudi Arabia as its main supplier"
This is why GWB considers Iraq a success.

The weapons of mass distruction are in China and Saudi Arabia is a main supplier of oil to them. Just in case you were wondering why we're really in the middle east.

This really captures the feel of wasted potential with the images of the crewless ships tethered. Like Rodin's Thinker in that way. This is pure poetry.

Hey you left out:
Don't let having a testicle removed stop you,
it might even be a more comfortable ride.

"fractious day" reminds me of Jabberwocky.
"Slip sibilant over the fields" doesn't really make sense but "Slip over the sibilant fields" would.
The whole poem makes me think of the death scene at the end of Gladiator.

I would bet my right arm that no duck that has ever existed aside from maybe Donald, Daffy or Howard the duck has ever contemplated in any way the profundity of walking on water.

I love how you admit to god feelings many would feel uncomfortable speaking about to god. "erase those emotions that cause me to be disappointed in you" for instance. More prayer than poem but a very good prayer.
