Re: a comment on Clerihews (here you go, Nicholas Jones!) by Yardbird 5-Nov-02/12:05 PM
This poem must be one of those Brit things; ich verstehe das nicht. Poemchancre.

Make that God of the underworld
Re: Untitled by vulcan 2-Nov-02/9:54 AM
Gold of the underworld, do you mean "That the lovelorn shepherd lives"?
Re: The Funnyman by Christof 2-Nov-02/9:49 AM
Haven't given a 9 in awhile. Reminds me of the line "squeezing out sparks" by Graham Parker. After reading this, I'm going to finally rent "Lenny" with Dustin Hoffman playing the role of the comedic genius Lenny Bruce.
Re: cool hand luke by royalflesh 31-Oct-02/10:29 PM
I like it; check your typos. Rolling Stone mag did a fascinatingly strange article on Hemingway and his very troubled son; I believe it was the August issue. My favorite line here is "and it is so much more....than destroyed". Keep fleshing, royally.
Re: Another Tragic Love Poem by greym0on 30-Oct-02/1:06 PM
Very strong, emotionally evocative. In stanza two, it reads awkwardly to end a line with "within" and start the next one with "in". Minor quibbles. "I'm sorry, is all that you can say..." --name that artist.
Re: a comment on Her Name Is Stella by Tascobar 30-Oct-02/12:02 PM
The sugars in the honey and cherry extract ferment out; leaving only a hint of their flavour to comingle with the hops and malt.

GW, I'm bottling my latest, orange blossom honey/cherry ale, tonight.
Re: a comment on Her Name Is Stella by Tascobar 30-Oct-02/7:56 AM
Brando screams "Stella" in A Streetcar Named Desire".
Re: a comment on In the Quiet of the Night a Tree Gently Shakes by Nicholas Jones 30-Oct-02/7:55 AM
Zzin, are you suggesting Nick should change it to "sleeps..."?
Re: In the Quiet of the Night a Tree Gently Shakes by Nicholas Jones 30-Oct-02/7:48 AM
"light growing, streetlights ending"? Good haiku.
Re: Her Name Is Stella by Tascobar 30-Oct-02/7:45 AM
I like Stella Artois, good beer. But, methinks Sierra Nevada Big Foot barleywine would cause a row and a ruction to begin.
Re: Second Attempt at Haiku by loneshadow29 28-Oct-02/8:29 AM
I like it, lnshdw; for my son's 20th b'day in August, I filled the cake with trick candles; he blew till he was blue in the face-hilarious.
What do you think, should the two sniper suspects' candles meet their end by being put to death in VA, or should MD try them?
Re: a comment on A love of the midlands by ==Doylum 21-Oct-02/1:39 PM
Thanks, and Dylm, do consider a holiday to our own picturesque Trenton, New Jersey; send a postcard, won't you?
Re: a comment on Unadorned by w~* ATHENA *~w 21-Oct-02/1:33 PM
I like some of this poem--makes me want to reread it; and, GW, if you'd stuck with it, she mentions your husband.
Re: a comment on Sniper by nightii 21-Oct-02/1:28 PM
I hear the Richmond cops are detaining two guys, today; hope it's them. If so, I'll come down to Richbrau to hoist some tall ones with you LS29. Write on.
Re: Plucking hearts and banjo by horus8 21-Oct-02/1:24 PM
This is one of my favourite H8 rambles; I like the wordplay and the line breaks. Tops are "left footed wind-up nut-kick" and "star blackened druids".

What's telford, a town? If so, capitalize it. Should I change my holiday plans for Iceland and go to Telford, instead?
Re: nothing could by nentwined 21-Oct-02/11:58 AM
Had to think about this one. Sounds like 220 volt on that shock.
Re: One liners for the ladies by INTRANSIT 20-Oct-02/7:34 PM
Sweet stuff; I'm reminded of Rob Roy, from the movie, before all that dang 'have at you' and such.
