Hmm. The thoughts are well-held in the beginning and end, but the phraseology might have been a little more flexible in the middle-part.

i like the first half better.

"crystal smoke", "cardboard beneath", "slit my balloon, bleeding red as i fell"---these scintillate.
"glimpse of past/lessons for future": too much approaching clichee. but, overall, good. salutations.

Snarkily enough, i was about to not-do anything out of caprice at not having a juicy walking-stick. but being gentle is good too, and so i do so in the end anyways.
You ascend higher in terms of all. i await future years with expectatory heart-leaps.

At this early hour, the poem's dichotomies seem tender, the self-interrogation nearly gentle. With the light of day the edges may turn hard and unjust, i know, but at the moment... Honest to (nearly) the core, i appreciate.

Again, this is possibly simply the fact of the near-full moon, but...intimations of the Other Side? or, to quote, "dustbunnies where there are none"?

yes! i relate, living nearby what is (supposedly) one of the fastest-growing (spawning?) spots in all of Canada.
