Creative use of the Limerick form. Some may say they were caught in a current and carried, but, reflecting on't, might later admit to plying those waters with all sails out.

I'm with Anagram; hang in there, D.O. Tomorrow you may meet someone who'll help you to see clear to a different perspective on your life a then we'll all be rating your odes to a butterfly, or some such.

Refreshingly heartfelt for this site. Narudasian? Does remind me of Pablo. Another poem that could work as a song; Shawn Colvin could do it well.

Have mercy on us, Ming. Methinks thine titles exceed thine poemes in interestingnecessity.

Keybored is mine, PAKI; there were never any profundities.

Once again, H8 missed the memo regarding quality and quantity. Rein yourself in, chisel, hone, and shake some spears into your lines.
Re: Tunnel Vision by x311 31-Aug-02/7:14 PM
Your voice has created an insistent presence on this site with this poem, x311. The poem makes me wonder about the past of the protagonist/antagonist. I could see this as a lead in, in italics, to a short story that starts...18 months ago....in a little cafe in Santa Fe....

I like this, A. I think it very colourfully paints a vibrant feeling and place; it does not lead me into beigeness and empty niceties. The crazy crown is scary, and who is Dicky bow, anyhow? What sport were your referring to with the score, there. Rugby?

Moving, depressing, thought provoking. Plath-like. No angel, no hero, only bitter memories.

Like with Zzin, tell me you're not just reeling off all these new and excellent poems, GW! I'm gonna read them all, again. 'When you bewildering me like sudden rain came'; could a comma help in there, somewhere? (I'm just grasping at straws to hopefully helpfully critique something).
Re: One Size Fits Most by Lenore 1-Sep-02/5:18 PM
Let's not forget Big Matriarchy. I like this poem, particularly for the environmental and socio-political awareness it engenders.

I like what you're after here, DS. I think you could say it better. Consider shortening the poem, not locking into metre, then losing it. Stay with a freeform which allows you to creatively toss in the off-metre phrase and make it ring like bells.

Very good. Reminiscent of Anais Nin. However, I think the first line is the weakest. My hands would be mute; no 's'. Comma or line break after 'speak'.

I see it differently; Bab not thinking too highly of women. He's simply telling a story, very well, from the perspective of men, together. We think this way; the poem communicates very effectively to me.
Re: Hypocrites by PawnedTidal 1-Sep-02/8:31 PM
Who are these savage, hypocrital betrayers? My interest is peaked; tell me.

Thanks for the reference, Dylm, I'll share this sextuplet limerick with my grandchildren. Although sifting through your emissions on this site to find something mildly diverting is akin to groping around at midnight in a shit bog, I do like the first two lines of the fourth limerick which end with beauty and cutie.

Ach du lieber, was kann ich sagen? Ein schones dichter und gedicht, aber keine anderer wurd auf Deutsch schreiben; schade....schadenfreude.

You must be a Brit, Dylm/DA, like Anagram says. Is wittering like 'whinging about'? Avon is the easternmost and far flungest away from civilization outpost of sandy, sealsalty natural beauty on the simply s'wonderful Outer Banks of North Carolina. Although I won't be driving that far, I am spending the weekend in Virginia Beach, where I'll be riding the new (to me) '01 Gary Fisher Joshua F4 I just nabbed for a song this afternoon.

Yes, Nntwnd, you have. The line about the tear is the best; otherwise, I'm still waiting for Dunkeles Engel to submit something with meaningful line breaks
