Re: Halves by impert&ent 22-Jul-03/7:08 PM
beautiful. Nice juxtaposition of the coming and going at the end.

Nice seventh stanza; lying to ourselves to create hope for the Earth-mother-lover. I like the helplessness of the sixth stanza, too.

Ha! Maybe it was subconscious. I really liked that line in your "A Student's Descent" - don't blame you for borrowing it.

You just have to make things difficult with your tricks of mathematical formulas, unusual/unknown animals, French language poems... I demand a translation for all of your encrypted poems! I refuse to vote on this piece.

Displaced aggression?

So dark.

I think the title works well. Nice job.

I guess most of us have been there, feeling disrespected and unappreciated, or we wouldn't be Here (feeling disrespected and unappreciated).

A friendlier tribute than Lord Ganus' dedications to various poets on this site. It's not so much the thorns that snag me as the parakeet claws.

The pain of poemranker strikes again. I notice that this is a frequent subject of poemranker poetry.

I like "when it is 3am and stereotypes gather" but could do without the "niggers, chiggers, wiggers, and spics", it could end with "they are goddessses".
Re: Poemranker's Recent Infestation of Teenage Girls by 68.75.19.117 25-Jul-03/6:50 AM
Who's looking for love/sex on poemranker anyway? If they are, then they know what they are getting into, a harsh "4" for the unnecessary warning.

It is hard for us old folks' eyes to focus when we have to keep scrolling down because the lines are so far apart. Maybe a one line space between would do.
Re: The Bearded Men by walrus8 25-Jul-03/9:13 AM
With your valuable feedback about the switch from "mouth" to "anus", I think you should replace men with "women"...
"It's the bearded women!
I'm really scared!
They're coming again,
And we're not prepared!"
And how could we be?

The first four lines really don't reflect the quality of the rest of this poem. The good stuff really starts with the 5th line. This line is also a little to cliche to fit in w/ the rest of the poem:
"For I dreamt the warm, welcoming wonder of your kiss"

A lovely drama. I like the little moral at the end.

What a Gentleman. All of Those Capitalized Words Take A Lot of Effort But Don't Seem to Add Much.

This IS a lonely place.
Re: Kakistocracy by <{Baba^Yaga}> 26-Jul-03/7:31 PM
"Panoramica" and "views of enslaved cattle" work well together, as do "Kakistocracy" and "Citizens Cained". I'm not sure if I'm getting the best complete picture, but the whole reminds me of Fast Food Nation.

"I fully understand that the living need to remember."
What do they need to remember and why? Of course you'll be forgotten in 10,000 years, I suggest you deal with your existential angst, rather than try to ensure that people remember you, graveyards are a waste of space. Of course, these comments are directed toward the "narrator", not the author.
