Re: a comment on The Rockets’ Song by Dovina 20-Dec-05/2:02 PM
Dear -=Dark_Angel, P.I.=-

Christmas Greetings and Holiday Cheer.

A year later and not much has changed.

Someday you may find your existence defined by an ache in some part of your anatomy, (Oh, you’ve felt it before, but this time it’s different), and you begin to doubt that the planets revolve about you according to the logical rules you have believed for so long. You may then laugh upon reading some writer who inspires the ache, and thus feel less alone with the sting.

Merry Christmas,
Dovina
Re: Unconscious by MacFrantic 20-Dec-05/12:28 PM
I wish I knew what you are talking about. It sounds like it might be interesting.
Re: Pledge by D. $ Fontera 20-Dec-05/12:25 PM
Verses 1 and 2 set it off very nicely. Then it muddles into something apparently important to you, but not very understandable as written.
Re: Aisle by the bread counter by Caducus 20-Dec-05/12:20 PM
Finally, you're writing plainly, understandably, as if convinced. And still it is warm.
Re: a comment on My kids by amanda_dcosta 20-Dec-05/11:29 AM
Yes it is. And I'm very ordinarily excited right now! Very much so!
Re: a comment on Heaven Help Me by cyan9 20-Dec-05/11:24 AM
I see that it's about receiving help, as I said. But heaven's help? That does not come through for me.
Re: a comment on Unbroken Horses by Caducus 20-Dec-05/11:21 AM
Then you have my sympathy. Still I think the grandfather in this poem is an SOB by any commonly accepted standard in any culture, except maybe the Vikings or the Mongols.
Re: a comment on Privacy by Dovina 20-Dec-05/11:16 AM
The obvious response is that the poem is not about privacy for perverts. I think you know that, and wish to confuse the discussion.
Re: a comment on Mixed Quartet by Dovina 20-Dec-05/11:10 AM
Lol from the bitten.
Re: a comment on Mixed Quartet by Dovina 20-Dec-05/11:09 AM
Yes, and as I said, it was an inspiratioin for this poem.

Even if 99.9% of DNA is the same in all humans, the effect of
slc24a5 seems great. As the article says, new strength for the arguement that race actually exists and is a worthy topic for debate is implied by this study. "For better or worse, the finding's most immediate impact may be an escalating debate about the meaning of race."
Re: philosophy of a new age by crazyknight 19-Dec-05/5:27 PM
Hold onto the things you believe even though they've been proven wrong. In various times, all things are right or wrong. It's a messed-up philosophy, and it's not even haiku.

Or maybe you’re getting at the eastern ideas of self: “The reason I have an enemy is because I have self. If I no longer had a self, I would no longer have an enemy.” Emptiness – the void inside the pot for which the pot was made.

And if that’s a bit foreign, try this: “The father is his daughter’s son.” – a Christmas mystery to think about.

Diamonds fit nicely into a stocking, not bulky, always appropriate.
Re: a comment on Mixed Quartet by Dovina 19-Dec-05/4:55 PM
Not really singable, though you could say that racial accord is like choral music, each part adding tonal qualities the others lack to produce mixed sound that's better than the sum of the parts.
Re: Your Words by TLRufener 19-Dec-05/4:31 PM
Sounds like you have exaggerated what really happened by thinking about it in too much negativity. Would he really "laugh in my face To reinforce my every fear"?
Re: a comment on Mixed Quartet by Dovina 19-Dec-05/4:25 PM
The genetics of race is a bag of marbles, where there's more quantifiable diversity among the marbles within a type of marble than there is between the types. Some people like to say that means there really are no types of marbles.
Re: a comment on Mixed Quartet by Dovina 19-Dec-05/4:19 PM
I deserve only a 1 for that.
Re: a comment on Unbroken Horses by Caducus 19-Dec-05/4:15 PM
Yes, but this guy was an sob by any standard.
Re: Returning Home by Niphredil 19-Dec-05/3:46 PM
Great description.
Re: Unbroken Horses by Caducus 19-Dec-05/3:35 PM
Very sad, forcefuly told.
Re: Just for Show (Suicide revised) by sliver 19-Dec-05/1:50 PM
I don't see why absolute silence is required, unless the absurd amount of whiskey is a very small amount.
