interesting. i can see how this is quickly sketched together and that it is the result of a conversation.
tough material to work with, but pretty clever and funny. i'm really torn between an -8- and -9-, but since you had the guts to post this, i will round up.

now THAT is a concept worth some thought and maybe some writing.... imagine, a heaven that is *not* a bunch of goody 2 shoes(es). saavy sould, souls with panache, politcial agendas, style, vanity, and flair. sounds a lot more interesting to me than the "peraly gates" version.
maybe i'm describing purgatory?

Well, you have to be rated before you can be overrated.

It's the middle stanzas that kinda remind me of Instant Karma (alot of it is just in the rhythm) and the Chorus makes me think Morrison. I really don't consider you overrated let alone horribly overrated.

Who's just trying to get by? I don't think you're getting it, but I'm glad you like it.

Wow, comparing me to Jim Morrison and John Lennon at the same time. I'm flattered, but I don't really think so...well, maybe Morrison...he was horribly overrated.
Actually, the chorus and verses were written at different times. That's why it seems a bit off kilter.

Somewhere in that old endless stretch of comments is a Flintstones reference (To God'swife I think) that I thought was quite clever and apperently no one else did.

If this is about open-chest surgery, it's very dramatic. But I have a problem with the patient knowing what is taking place while under anaesthesia.

An historical event like this requires, in my opinion, a longer development, prior to the punch line. A more flowing form might work better.

I like this a lot, but think "monsters" is too strong a word to describe them. They're not that bad - just trying to get by.

This poem is excellent but for one fact. The dead will have, on occasion, a bowel movement after bacteria and gas have their way with food left in stomach and intestines. So, one may shit and not be. Sorry.

Buddahism is a godproof hat, or tries to be, because it stands in for religion, relieving its followers from the almighty.

The last stanza reminds me of a conversation between a forest ranger, a maker of gold, and a love-torn woman seeking shelter from the ravages of persistant atheism fighting in some netherworld against the forces of an almighty.
