I hate when titles are in the poem. It is such song lyric mentality. A title should stand on its own. I saw a bumper sticker the other day on a car that said, "abortion is the fruit of nuclear war." It was homemade and spanned the entire bumper. I thought about this and even brought it up to my students who sat with curious looks on their grad student faces. Anyone out there care to suggest what this one means. DA?

Well now, I shall put it here. Considering Mr. Elliot, a Misery boy if there ever was one, wrote a plethora of obscure material, none of which , racist and all, made it to the London and New York stage, why would you choose one of the most well known ditties in his arsenal? And why compare yourself to the now deceased God's Wife who, due to yet another monthly bloodletting, has packed her poems and pulled an Amelia on us all. So you tell me who is the Gwen and who is the poet, besides neither in this case.
