Is it still the case that any law student must dine at least 24 times in inner temple before being allowed to qualify?

Re: a comment on inverse square by ex0teric 14-May-04/3:53 AM
"two bodies, drifting
their trajectories intersect
close enough for
an inverse-square relationship
to develop."

That is buncombe. What do you mean by "close enough for an inverse-square relationship to develop"? The inverse square law applies to two bodies at ANY distance, no matter how large or small. At the present moment, according to the inverse square law, your shrivell'd prune of a body is experiencing the tug of gravity from EVERY other object in the Universe. Including my own buttocks, and the buttocks of every buttock-endowed life form in the universe.

Surely, though, it is true that bummers are more likely to be pervs. Homosexuality is a deviation from the sexual norm. And it is an elementary consequence of Bayes' theorem that, given someone deviates from the sexual norm, they are more likely to deviate from the sexual norm. In other words, they are more likely to be pervs.

Re: a comment on The Blood-Stained Body by Phalkon 13-May-04/4:23 PM
"But you could just say 'kleptomaniacs steal because they are just acting out their inclinations', or 'psychopaths kill because they are just acting out their inclinations', or 'homosexuals perform lewds because they are acting out their inclinations', and so on. The point isn't whether it's their 'fault' that they have such inclinations. The point is that the majority of 'normals' would rather live in a world with such people either behind bars, or being treated for being utterly mental. The difference between the 'liberals' and the 'conservatives' would probably be that the 'liberals' would ensnare the 'naughties' to (a) protect society, and (b) act as a deterrent. 'Conservatives' would ensnare them to (a) protect society, (b) act as a deterrent, and (c) punish them because of a thing called 'justice'."

I actually find barely any compscis fall into any of those categories. Instead, they fall into one of these categories:

1. Horrible bearded pseudo-hippies
2. Smug-faced bearded animu fags
3. Sweating tubs of lard
4. Troll-faced girls
5. Squash-playing teacher's pets
6. Terrifying ethnics
7. A single really fit girl
Re: a comment on inverse square by ex0teric 13-May-04/4:14 PM
You should propose that, in the spirit of Horwich's deflationism, the word 'truth' be replaced by the infinite conjunction of all true propositions.
Re: a comment on inverse square by ex0teric 13-May-04/3:16 PM
On display at the University of Lincoln is a very profound piece of student artwork. The print is all black except for the single world 'truth' in white courier. It really made me think man.

Then I saw the other display next to it which was several giant photographs of a student with her baps out.
