Cut out the adjectives and see what it gives. Alternately, toss out the dictionary.

Very clever how in every second stanza the rhyme isn't true.

It's hard to know if you're making fun of this meeting-God-and-answering-to-him stuff or if you're literal. If you're really preaching, then get rid of the cliches and state your case in plain English. No vote until I know which.

I'm just curious as to whether or not you ever put music to your lyrics. Not a bad one, btw.

I'm glad to see you writing again. I wish you'd spend as much time writing as you do attempting to make Poemranker newbies feel bad about themselves. You're not half bad, is what I'm trying to say.

This "darkangel" is a literary genius. Leave him alone. He's clearly a bummer with no friends. Apart from his poetry. Which is incredible and should be published. I assume you draw on some of the poetic greats of years gone by. If Byron were alive today, I truly believe that he would be tackling these very issues.

Ha ha, you got banned. Naturally, I said it was all YOUR fault.
Dovina on An Even Better God by wilco 28 Oct 2004, 12:22 PM
What makes you think you can slither away without a word, and come waltzing back a month later without so much as a flimsy explanation. I'm melted by "special thanks" though and can only say, Welcome Back. This is a very funny take-off on "A Better God" and also quite profound if you want to open discussions on whether such a god exists, and if so, whether he sends hurricanes, earhtquakes and plagues in anger. Your last two lines pretty well sum up where such discussions end.

What are the chances tha yours and Horus8's houses both burned down and are posted as poems on the same day? Wonder...
Dovina on Ash by horus8 28 Oct 2004, 6:45 PM
A house is a house is a house, An ended thing an' black. But why not "and" and "B"?
Tintagiles on some deleted poem 28 Oct 2004, 8:03 PM
But your possibilities will be so much wider if you're NOT following God's rules. Just think: for starters, you'll be allowed to vary the positions.
