The good teachers are hard to find.

Yes, Spock would have said "Beam me up, bitch, for I have much nerve-pinching to do."
Re: a comment on evolution 9 by wilco 25-Apr-04/6:31 PM
This was a poem that I edited into another poem and there were acouple of comments that I did'nt feel had any value to the new poem and thus were deleted. :0)
As far as your other questions:
1) I don't think snakes came from mammals either but this is an allusion to the fact that we really don't know for sure (although its an obscure line I admit)
2) Yep, all the species that had the skills for survival did survive. This line refers to one that did not.
3) I wrote this after having a conversation with an extremely devout Christian woman who completely refused to acknowledge even the slightest possibility that evolution happened, despite the historical (read: fossil) evidence.

yep. very poetic and stuff.

No, I'm not Dave. I simply have a rabid fan base. It makes it hard sometimes...

Apostrophes always mess me up...
i.e. - none the less - I was going for kind of a Bill Shatner kind of voice thing there....I don't know.....
Re: a comment on The How To on Haikus by <Wankster> 25-Apr-04/8:31 AM
It could depend on your geographic location. Someone in the deep south might pronounce it "pome" and therefore make it one syllable. Of course, this would still be wrong, but whatever.
Re: a comment on Writing the Books by validus_vox 25-Apr-04/8:16 AM
yep.
Re: Mental Escape by validus_vox 25-Apr-04/8:15 AM
Yes, some punctuation would definitely make this better.
Re: She Searches For Love by validus_vox 25-Apr-04/8:12 AM
I was going to give this a 7 until I read the comments and saw what it is about. For what it's worth, I think you should try the above suggestion and try rewriting it and trying to find the "right" words (I didn't get that it was a mentally ill girl until the comments). Still, it's not bad at all.
Re: a comment on Of Dreams and Obscurity by wilco 24-Apr-04/9:19 PM
By the way, I didn't mean for that to sound as smart-ass as it does. I really do like your poems.
Re: Exclamatory Abuse by Blindpoetry 24-Apr-04/7:26 PM
nice title. fitting.
Re: a comment on Of Dreams and Obscurity by wilco 23-Apr-04/9:53 PM
Of course. They are a constant source of inspiration to me. I must graciously extend my most humble apologies if I have offended you with my question. I suppose that I didn't understand that you were referring to yourself. :o)
Re: a comment on Of Dreams and Obscurity by wilco 23-Apr-04/9:50 PM
You see, there would be no limit to how tall you could be if all that you wanted to do was jump. To leap (a feat that I associate with small "low-to-the-ground" beings such as frogs, midgets, leprechauns, etc.) you would need to be, as mentioned, low to the ground. If you grew to extreme heights, I imagine that it would be impossible to leap....that you would simply jump.
Re: a comment on Of Dreams and Obscurity by wilco 23-Apr-04/12:46 PM
and do you think that the California despondent found any hope in the hills of Tennessee?
Re: a comment on Of Dreams and Obscurity by wilco 23-Apr-04/12:44 PM
A short story about a drunken leprechaun smoking a joint a Wrigley Field with Johnny Cash....it just might work.
Re: a comment on Summer Festival by wilco 22-Apr-04/1:04 PM
ooh....that was supposed to be "for the memory of all." Thanks
Re: a comment on Summer Festival by wilco 20-Apr-04/7:19 PM
H, I think you're reading too much into it now....lol...
1) If you're right in front of it in the front row, it seems that big.
2) True, but they ARE expensive.
Re: a comment on Summer Festival by wilco 20-Apr-04/6:56 PM
Well:
1) Rising high and filling the horizon - Those stages are huge.
2) a drink too costly... - Liquid goods (i.e. - water and beer) are very expensive at these large outdoor festivals.
3) flail and wail.....that is better...
