This was a poem that I edited into another poem and there were acouple of comments that I did'nt feel had any value to the new poem and thus were deleted. :0)
As far as your other questions:
1) I don't think snakes came from mammals either but this is an allusion to the fact that we really don't know for sure (although its an obscure line I admit)
2) Yep, all the species that had the skills for survival did survive. This line refers to one that did not.
3) I wrote this after having a conversation with an extremely devout Christian woman who completely refused to acknowledge even the slightest possibility that evolution happened, despite the historical (read: fossil) evidence.

No, I'm not Dave. I simply have a rabid fan base. It makes it hard sometimes...

Apostrophes always mess me up...
i.e. - none the less - I was going for kind of a Bill Shatner kind of voice thing there....I don't know.....

It could depend on your geographic location. Someone in the deep south might pronounce it "pome" and therefore make it one syllable. Of course, this would still be wrong, but whatever.

Yes, some punctuation would definitely make this better.

I was going to give this a 7 until I read the comments and saw what it is about. For what it's worth, I think you should try the above suggestion and try rewriting it and trying to find the "right" words (I didn't get that it was a mentally ill girl until the comments). Still, it's not bad at all.

By the way, I didn't mean for that to sound as smart-ass as it does. I really do like your poems.

Of course. They are a constant source of inspiration to me. I must graciously extend my most humble apologies if I have offended you with my question. I suppose that I didn't understand that you were referring to yourself. :o)

You see, there would be no limit to how tall you could be if all that you wanted to do was jump. To leap (a feat that I associate with small "low-to-the-ground" beings such as frogs, midgets, leprechauns, etc.) you would need to be, as mentioned, low to the ground. If you grew to extreme heights, I imagine that it would be impossible to leap....that you would simply jump.

H, I think you're reading too much into it now....lol...
1) If you're right in front of it in the front row, it seems that big.
2) True, but they ARE expensive.

Well:
1) Rising high and filling the horizon - Those stages are huge.
2) a drink too costly... - Liquid goods (i.e. - water and beer) are very expensive at these large outdoor festivals.
3) flail and wail.....that is better...
