How to say nothing
While mastering haiku form
Is why we're all here

8 for satire

"you've mastered the haiku poem" -- 8. I can't tell if that's satire or a mistake. 6.

I'm giving you a seven in the hopes that the 8 syllable line was intentional.

Cuz, well - that would be funny.

What 8 syllable line?

Same one Nentwined was talking about:
"you've mastered the haiku poem"
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8

unless someone wants to convince me "poem" is one syllable.

That was either my genius or my mistake.

I wank, does that count?

It could depend on your geographic location. Someone in the deep south might pronounce it "pome" and therefore make it one syllable. Of course, this would still be wrong, but whatever.

Don't get me wrong, I think its perfectly fine to have a haiku with 8 or whatever syllable counts.

Generally its a short/long/short kinda thing, and most folks bristle at anything other than 5 7 5, possibly accepting 3 5 3.

Not sure about the last one..."poem" one or two? Maybe it's the satire like everyone else said. If it is, I get it and it's funny.

the beautiful thing about the english language is that it is so diversified and evolving. poem can easily be one syllable or two. i don't see the big issue here, though i am rooting for two, just because it's funnier.

also amelia: two syllables or three?
