Thats part of my tribute to Allen Ginsberg... you should take a look at his poem "The Charnel Ground". That'll probly give more clarity to the issue.. heh..

Yes, I'm from California. As for that sitcom? Never watched it, and despite that I'm certain it was nothing remotely similiar to an acurate representation of my life.. as if my life could be summed up in a sitcom... pfft.

Heh, yeah, it's a bit more fluid without "then".. the things a poet will notice in time, tsk, it's amazing the things I've written in the past and the little hiccups I find in them now or not too far off into the future.. I've deducted it from my pc copy. I'm happy you enjoyed the piece, and appreciate you vote and feedback.

He didn't, he gave me an eight for the first version months ago. You'll notice that beneath the voting graph there is a link called "view voting details", click it and you'll see that sanity was the one who gave me a one.
Just wanted to clear that up so no one gets blamed for someone elses vote heh.

Re: Recycled Stardust by Quarton |

I think perhaps having wrapped up your point under the stout umbrella of science wasn't exactly the best choice you could have made... science being a beast of logical order and strict substantiation leaves little room for a poet to roam creatively.. etc, etc.
Did you ever consider taking the philosophical/metaphysical approach? Which goes hand in hand with poetry much more gracefully than science, in my opinion. (and no, I don't mean to belittle science in any way shape or form-- so all you cursed magus' of strict order & verification can refrain from swarming in packs 'pon my back..)
Also, the way you worded it made it obviouse that you were in the throes of seduction.. and the thing you have with stardust does seem like your modern "new-age occult hippie-ism."
I liked the core idea of the poem despite all that, though my understanding of it could be my deluded twisting at work... I suggest going about it again in a less romanticised fashion and try to be more organic & I dare say aesthetic to effectively express your apparent solipsism.

Doesn't it? scary and worthy of goosebumps. Oh, and this is me fulfilling the dream of using the term wellington succesfully-- darkie only just recently informed me of its meaning... Oh the cleverness of me.

Trust me, I've never been close to the state, nor do I ever plan to go near the south of this crabby united states.. but maybe with enough alcohol and meth, you could get me to go steer hunting in texas while searching for nonexistent black gold and apache medicine men who sell peyote.

Thanks, I don't think anyone other than, perhaps horus8 or darkie, has read all of my stuff.. I've amassed a pretty large bundle of work on this site. I also go by other pen-names such as DreamerSupreme, Don-Quixote, Y2kSlamPoet, and Shit-Crumpets. Multi-internet-personalities are fun... and evil, so thats why I have them, plus the extra posting abilities are pretty nice.
You'll find though, in time, that my work is varied in style, technique and quality.. I'm sure one piece or another will piss you off or fall short of being pleasurable.. :) Your starting out pretty well, and you seem to have grasped, somewhat, your sense of style-- more than what I had when I first landed here at rankerville.
Peace be the reading, murderous be your vengeful loathing.

Re: Skuld Resurrected by SupremeDreamer |

Well, I've taken into consideration the only two suggestions for a title, and have decided to use a hybrid of both.. sort of.
Behold its new title: Skuld Resurrected. (Skuld is the Norse goddess of fate, future.. seems that I'm having a sudden flare for mythology these days.)
Any objections or other reactions are welcomed.
