Yes it does make you long for the days when industrial and agricultural greed forced us into civil war and then later into the great depression.

I think Flowers for Agernon covered this topic pretty well already. For those of you unfamiliar with the story see Stephen Kings Lawnmower Man.

I was just thinking the same thing about the "publish" button. Check out my suggestion. Tell me what you think.

Good Idea. Why not just arrange your favorites by how you ranked them though? That way you can have a longer list if you want.

Simply change the line so "memory" is "memorable" and then change the last line so it ends with "ephemeral".
Re: a comment on Oh Merry Fay (part 1) by ALChemy 14-Dec-05/6:00 PM
Do you have any favorite photos by Carroll?
Re: a comment on Oh Merry Fay (part 1) by ALChemy 14-Dec-05/5:45 PM
His name was Humbert Dumpledy. He sadly died in a fall off the castle wall during a brave attack on the Gar. :)
Re: a comment on Oh Merry Fay (part 1) by ALChemy 14-Dec-05/5:39 PM
He was sort of the Andy Kaufman of literature wasn't he.
Maybe we can get Humpty Dumpty to explain some of our poems to Dovina.

Thanks. You have some natural skill for writing poetry and you would amaze yourself with how good you can write if you studied the art of poetry a little more. Just go to the library and check out 1 book of great poems by various poets and 1 book on the art of writing poetry. Study the "Art of poetry" book and then read the other one and then try to write poems simular to the ones you've just read. That's pretty much how I started out.

I knew I forgot one. Thanks.

I had no idea that you wanted poetry on a silver platter. My apologies.

If anyone knows how to Jabberwock it's him.
Re: a comment on Oh Merry Fay (part 1) by ALChemy 13-Dec-05/4:33 PM
Have you ever read Jabberwocky?
http://www.jabberwocky.com/carroll/jabber/jabberwocky.html
As stated in above comments it's about writing a story using a lot of invented words and yet still tying together something like a story. The idea is that the reader uses their own imagination with the made up words and in doing so takes the poem to a personal level that the poet could not normally achieve.
Re: a comment on Oh Merry Fay (part 1) by ALChemy 13-Dec-05/4:22 PM
Why not Lewis Carrol did.
Re: a comment on Oh Merry Fay (part 1) by ALChemy 13-Dec-05/4:01 PM

We just had a bunch out there last week. I'll try to make bear noises while he sleeps.
Re: a comment on War (edit) by zodiac 13-Dec-05/2:48 PM
Whatever it was about I'm sure we'd probably not live up to our hype. I'm sure it would sound something like:
Z:"So your Alchemy."
A:"Yep, I'm Alchemy"
Z: "Cool."
A: "So your Zodiac"
Z: "Yep, I'm Zodiac"
A: "Cool."
Z: "Um, well gotta go."
A: "Good luck. See ya on Poemranker."
Z: "You too. Have a good one."

I work at the UNCC (Nothing scholarly though) at the Student Activity Center ie. Basketball arena.
I think Me and Lil both migrated here from PA. I was drawn by all the high paying jobs only to find out there was a high cost of living and stingy state government policies waiting for us.
I took a state job so that I was at least getting a little less screwed than everyone else. Still it beats the hopelessness of living in PA.
I lived below a guy from Alaska. He was like something out of the old west. He lived in the woods and mined for gold and was missing most of his teeth. I hope the temperature and culture change doesn't kill you. You couldn't get any farther from the middle east. If while your in Charlotte you see a gold Grand Am and a guy with a yellow cap, honk your horn.
