Re: Sonata for Robin and Poet by Dovina 8-Nov-05/6:11 AM
Not your best. I suggest you seem to know a lot about how poets think and act while simultaneously holding the belief that poetry is not something requiring training, effort, or skill while simultaneously writing crap poetry about it.
Re: a comment on the band by celticskatermatt1 8-Nov-05/6:06 AM
You wanna know how we knew you were 13?

Cause you say stupid shit like "Im sorry If a person with a higher intelect, as yourself, can not accept a poem that tells a story".

What patent crap. Obviously his disliking you has nothing to do with whether your poem tells or story or not, or even whether or not it tells a story we understand. Besides, of course we understand. We've all been 13 once, while you haven't been 26 yet. I don't mean to be negative, just don't say stuff like that anymore. And go out and try to have some, you know, experiences and stuff.

The fact that you've studied art means some white person somewhere is surely calling you a faggot right now. You must really hate white people, too.

Please forgive richa. He's a very nice guy who simply can't help getting in fights with people he essentially agrees with whilst online. I think it's something to do with the limitations of written language.

I'm afraid the preceding comment contains all 100% of what you've said.

If you believe the black race is the most different from the white race, you are a racist. The original topic of this conversation is whether -=Dark_Angel=-,P.I. is racist or you actually are. I don't see how I could be more cogent. In addition, your insistence on talking about whether or not I'm talking about side issues is itself a side issue, and of no importance.
Re: When Did You Walk Away? by TLRufener 7-Nov-05/5:20 AM
I know you use your poetry to convey your thoughts and experiences and wish to make an accurate account of your life and times and everything, but did you know that in 61 poems you've asked an astonishing 83 questions? Do you plan on ever answering anything?

Not haiku.
Re: a comment on Posted Pelicans by Dovina 7-Nov-05/4:37 AM
DOVINA: The black race is the most different from the white race.

ZODIAC: No, we're still fighting.

DOVINA: Whatever, I know I'm not racist, while you think you might be racist. By my logic, you're racist and I'm not.

ZODIAC: I can't load 'Racism' so let me ask you here: Do you understand how given ANY TWO GROUPS AT ALL, one of them HAS to be superior, on average, to the other, on average, at any given thing? -=Dark_Angel=-'s right, if you don't get that, you're racist.

DOVINA: If I'm racist, I'm only racist IN FAVOR of cute blacks.

ZODIAC: That is not a plausible defence.

DOVINA: Blaaaaaaaaat.

ZODIAC: Whatever.

If you really had integrity, you'd do it. As things stand you've Hitler's integrity, clinging to the death to some groundless, hideous, arbitrary notion. When you wake up and find what a bunker your ideology's reduced to, you're going to shoot yourself and everyone else in the room.

re: "That's because democrats tend to be isolationist pussies."

In the last election, 58% of Americans with passports voted Democrat, 35% voted Republican.
Re: a comment on To The Modern Black Standard by ALChemy 6-Nov-05/6:02 AM
"Gimme a Pigfoot" was apparently written by black vaudeville singer Sox Wilson. I meant Billie's notorious for singing white peoples' standards, like the Gershwins' "They Can't Take that Away from Me", and having people think they're authentic blues. That's what I got out of "the caged bird sings to the white feline", anyway.

I can't find anything more of "The Pusher" online except a 30-second clip at Amazon, which I don't think makes it to the chorus.
Re: The Bed I Made by BrandonW 6-Nov-05/4:55 AM
A: Divide the total number of times she's walked through the door by the total number of times she could potentially have walked through the door. The second number should be very high.

A: Just make them up. We won't know the difference.

A: Use mnemonics, like
I knew
at precisely two
-or-
She left at four
because she's a whore.

Of course, that doesn't help if you've already forgotten what time precisely you knew. You might try hypnosis, or keeping a daily planner.

A: In the dark, preferably crouching.

Good except the last line.

Really?

Really???
Re: tourist by skaskowski 6-Nov-05/4:36 AM
Regarding the poem: I don't think she redecorates by keeping (or reinstalling) the original fixtures, which I assume is what tourists do in old country places. It needs a different word.

Regarding tourists: Mid-desert, they will unfailingly find the biggest patch of sunlight and stand in it, blinking.
Re: To The Modern Black Standard by ALChemy 6-Nov-05/4:31 AM
You must mean Billie Holiday singing "gimme a pigsfoot and a bottle of beer" as written by a Jew.

Try Nina Simone:

You know I smoked a lot of grass, Oh Lord, I popped a lot of pills
But I never did touch nothing that my spirit couldn't kill
You know I see a lot of people walkin' round here with tombstones in their eyes
'Cause the pusher don't care, child, if you live or if you die
God damn on the pusher,
I said God damn him
God damn him, pusher man

You have to hear it. When Nina says God damn, you know God's paying attention.

Nice. Tre Cali. It's interesting that you used an ungainly creature to represent settledness. I mean that as a compliment, and see how it works, but I always think pelicans look like they're about to fall over.
Re: a comment on Steak and Satin by Dovina 6-Nov-05/4:15 AM
I'm sorry, we were talking about racism. Please retract the following: "negroes, the most different race from his [-=Dark_Angel=-'s]... about as different as it gets", so we can continue this conversation normally. It's a very easy thing to do. Here, I'll make it even easier:

---------------------------------------------------------

I, Dovina, without reservation or qualification retract my statements of 01-Nov-05 to the effect that the black race is the most different from the white race. I did not mean that there is only a wide difference between them. The black race is not the most different from the white race.

Until you do, I'm afraid we're stuck on this nightmarish tangent. In my defense, I thought this was going to be resolved a week ago.

This content filter is so frustrating. I can't even get on comments-recent anymore. Someone's bound to get the idea to post a bunch of scatology and fillibuster me.
