Re: Taffy by knickytoy 24-Sep-02/8:42 AM
taffy is a candy traditionally made with sugar and salt water. boil it down let it cool, pull and stretch it--wrap it in wax paper, and sell it to tourists. see: http://www.mtnlaurel.com/Recipes/taffy.htm or http://homepages.skylink.net/~skaarup/pages_candy/candy_09_taffy.html

but can you open the windows of your ninth floor condo to lay out the offering? and what gifts have you for the butchers? (you make a tantalizing image. i once went out in the morning to find my car beset by a flock of about 50 vultures--just hanging around in the low branches near my car, like they were waiting for me...creepy. i was living at the house that inspired 'secret, admirer,' and the vultures were a large part of the weirdness there between the edge of the swamp and the woods. after that experience, seeing a vulture pressing the 9th floor glass would make me lose it, me thinks. nice job.

i'm jealous of you too. that's why i pummelled you with pellets. but i bet you had to really scrub to wash them off. the rain just wouldn't have cut it. so, you probably won't be dignifying me with a reply...
