awkwardly written, not digested beforehand. Dishonest, you're making a loud noise .. but i don't get any real observation, just dramatised emotionality

this is funny and Struwwelpeter brought uptodateish and takethepissish with considerable success - i'd dump the "ye" tho, sounds dangerously as if it might be taking itself too seriously, out of place.....; shaggy dog metre.

anonymous on the societal/cultural value of horror ..
v. Aristotle's "purging of pity and terror" .. has to reflect the ACTUAL society; opera and classical tragedy yes, but not 100% "of the moment" now.

Speaking from a societal/cultural viewpoint, what purposes do horror stories serve?
In your answer make references to the "Texas Chainsaw Massacre", "The Shining", and Michael Jackson's "Thriller".

self-pity puts me off and never seems like poetry to me; almost its impossible. poetry a true voice, I hear self-deception here.. and real poetic ability, squandered,

wonderful up until "As fathers do" .. from then it seems to get clumsy, diffuse, far less assured. banging on when you were so graceful ..and the gold is wasted

who are you trying to kid??
obscure meaningless crap is obscure meaningless crap, not poetry. It can be prose, verse, painting or ad copy. Poetry is the only way to say what it says. It require discipline both to write and to read. I don't know if your pseudodefinition is in the evasive ironic mode or if it really is, you believe, a definition. ??

intriguing; a little disjointed in a way that for me works against rather than with the emotional movement of the poem. I'd prefer not the second verse; unsubtle; it could be tighter altogether, but I like the variation of distance and texture

I like this so much that I logged on despite being otherwise occupied mostly right now, to say how much I like it. It has a voice all right. Reminds me of .. oddly, of cummings in his this kind of mode; and I really like and admire cuimmings' poetry

I like this part best:

It is here in the lonely meadows of nowhere
that fierce winter winds thrust off Lake Erie
and push deep into her blood.
It is here I listen to the distant
howl of a father calling his girl home

this is doing for me the work of a poem, of this poem. A wordsmith you are; this piece is noticeable as emanate from someone who has developed certain skills of sound, angle and recursion;

but I would prefer if the "statement" delivered by all this image amenagement, this riffling of consciousness in recollection, were something else than a whine of victimhood.....
