Re: Stand Up For Yourself !!! by Brandy_n_Cali 5-Sep-04/10:29 AM
An essay. A statement of position. Not a poem. I agree with you.
Re: A Poem by BigB 5-Sep-04/10:26 AM
Maybe a more descriptive title might have eased my misunderstanding or failure to know what you mean.
Re: Edges by Blue Magpie 5-Sep-04/10:22 AM
This is the kind of poem that wins contests. It probably brought loud applause if you read it before an audience. It has the normally desired elements. And don’t get me wrong, I enjoy its flow and appreciate the images and descriptions. But it sacrifices meaning for prose, follow-through for rhythm. It is like a beautiful melody having lyrics that seem beautiful because of their attachment to the music.

And where would we be without them? A poignant reminder.
Re: Cast of Millions by MacFrantic 4-Sep-04/12:27 PM
Very amusing.
Re: a night of solitude by Faulk 4-Sep-04/12:23 PM
Quite nice.
I'd leave out "heavenly" on line 3, and "lost" in line 5.
Line 6: "As the breeze stirs . . .
Omit "The totality of"
A beautiful scene.

A good thought in need of control. Get a grip on that yarn, tighten it up.

Your support is all that's needed to gain you a lucrative post, perhaps on the Atomic Energy Commission.

Thanks for the insight. Perhaps it’s true that we each have a soul, and it makes us who we are in spite of our efforts. Perhaps I’m enslaved by that soul and its controlling deity, kicking against the goads. I’d rather say I’m open-minded and ready to consider opposing forces even while looking a fool in the conflict.
Re: a comment on ~Frosty~ by Brandy_n_Cali 3-Sep-04/11:23 AM
This one is touching, but a little too maudlin, simple, and contradictory. I usually don't comment on these.
Re: A Toast to Us! by singinkygal 3-Sep-04/11:15 AM
A perfect expression of passion.

Mastake?

You mean that was not on purpose? He's so deceptive, isn't he?
Re: a comment on St. Patrick’s Cathedral by Dovina 3-Sep-04/10:04 AM
I see it has already headed for that no-good end. And I had such a good answer for your ecumenical American Christianity comment, too.

PS-You misspelled occasionally, ecumenical, and Islam.

Do you mean hostage? Poemranker has always been hostile.
Re: a comment on Hoodwinked by Dovina 2-Sep-04/8:25 PM
That's a ridiculous generalization. Hey, I keep using that word. Maybe I should just use that word. Hey, thanks.
Re: a comment on Hoodwinked by Dovina 2-Sep-04/7:59 PM
I need a strong word here to show his ridiculous disrespect. It’s amazing how much some women will put up with from a man and still give him another chance. Maybe something like bowl’s.
Re: Love Letter by wilco 2-Sep-04/12:04 PM
She's young and don’t know nothing ‘bout life. A good He-done-her-wrong-song. But is crying bold? It seems more an escape from bold. The last verse - a nice switch.
Re: a comment on St. Patrick’s Cathedral by Dovina 1-Sep-04/10:24 AM
That's a religious-sounding moralist answer, like a pulpit-pounding preacher might rant. Try again. On second thought, let's leave it here lest it become a name-calling exercize with no good end.
Re: A Usual Days Perspective by TAMARAG67 31-Aug-04/8:19 PM
All poems are useless drivel. The human race is useless drivel. Hey, two peas in a pod. Neither on better than the other. I feel better already.
