Re: Brethren, oblivion is not the road to the city Ataraxis II by SupremeDreamer mindsigns 205.188.116.134 7-Mar-06/5:42 AM
Sounds like your preaching to me, I hate lectures. And I don't fancy looking up every other word you write in the dictionary, I'm a simple man and big word don't impress me.
Re: a comment on A Failed Proposition Under The Night Sky by Ranger Ranger 62.252.32.15 7-Mar-06/5:11 AM
Cool, I've had a while to think about these suggestions and decisions are starting to follow. 'Burden lifted' sounds better, I shall change that. 'Setting diamond in the band' I also like (I need to keep diamond singular though, there's only one Venus in the sky!) 'It cries, mourning' is really good, although I might play about with it a bit for effect. I'll resubmit this in the near future, I think. Thanks for your ideas!

Yes, yes, yes...needs fine tuning (oh dear I didn't even realise how bad a pun that was until after I said it...) but this could be on its way to greatness.

I played on the teeth of an alligator once because I liked his smile.

You probably say that every time.

I could ask the usual questions that make atheism look more like belief than theism. Let's skip that; it's all been done.

Thank you for supporting me. We may be insane, but we agree.

God is the biggest load of guff to have hit the human race since monkey-times. If you believe in Him, an important part of your brain is beyond demented.

This is insane. It's perfectly easy for a man-made description to apply to God. For example, the man-made adjective "god-like" means "having qualities like God's." Of course, that description applies excellently to God. If it's misused in describing people or things that DON'T have qualities like God's, that's not exactly God's fault, now, is it?

Tough truckin' eh? The fort held despite onslaughts from the Allen Boy. Lower the drawbridge, Rudyard, I see a Gimmy in white.

Start by taking out all the unecessaries. The -but, the- ands etc. you're really on to something here. I like it. 8.5 though an easy ten. working my way home. Can't wait to get back to "normal". It's been a bad run this time out. Thanks to all for "holding down the fort".

To say that God helped OJ Simpson to get acquitted is the most disgusting insult to God I have ever heard! Lent has just begun, and it may not be too late for you to take a vow, put ashes on head go about in deep contrition until Easter.

Frankly, I don't think you've accused me of anything I have not said about myself. Did I use logic to explain God? - Only in saying that if He is God, then he is above our understanding and above our rules. Did I preach to you, saying "God is this, God is that"? I have feelings about God as you do, but I don't think I presented mine to you as truths to be heeded. Did I say that I know God? Well maybe I did. It says somwhere that God created me in His image, created all of us in His image. I like to think of the autonoimy that imples, and contained in it, the ability to relinquish my freedom or to use it creatively, in some small image, as God created. Anyway, I still see this discussion as more about how we describe God than about how we perceive Him.

pretty interesting. i think the allegory could be pushed a bit more, with all the references to scales, much they way you "played" on the teeth (double entendre intended). overall, sounds like a traumatic experience....

i suppose they are. i don't really think in a 5-7-5 manner, so i guess it is like trying on a suit to see what it feels like. perhaps i will go back to my old khakis and rollneck sweater. ;P

Apparently you get your understanding of God from little monkeys in your head. My God Dovina, where the hell do you think your understanding of God comes from? Is it some other mystical source nobody but you knows about. You see, the minute you start trying to use logic to explain God your fucked. God is hidden from logic. He only shows himself in an emotional presence. You can say I feel him but you can't say I know him. All we know about him is what others have told us about him and the others are all saying you've gone batty Dovina. See, I'm just saying how I feel God's presence, I'm not trying to define God and preach to you saying "God is this, God is that". I'm not saying you're wrong about you're God, I'm saying you're wrong about my God. So back off, And I think I'm speaking for alot of people when I say that.

I actually read this out loud to myself; it helped complete a very vivid and beautifully tangible poem. Reminded me I haven't been to the sea in a while... Had to google 'scoters', though, being myself painfully ignorant.
