Monday night football, Tueasday? War. (Haiku) by Jeremi B. Handrinos
The tip of the spear does almost sound arousing. Just not to the French. War video game? Battle sequence play station. On line Navy SEAL. Do I see hippies? Unfortunately, not quite. Kids with zits and gum. Cool! Live from Baghdad. This is better than sliced bread. Real time' shock and awe'. A snake with no head. Ghost with note pad and glasses. Prepare to defect.

"Fuck the what?" does make a more interesting question. The answer may be something to fear though.

This guy has sumbitted a beautiful piece of work and I think we owe it to our fellow artists to grant him the same consideration we would expect for one of poems.

nicely done. the third stanza made me dance, as I made the mistake of attending a protest for shits and giggles yesterday. it was the most depressing spectacle I've seen in ages.

Tell me about it. I can still see the guy that the movie "born on the fourth of july" about wheeling around with a sign that says do you know who i am? As if he was a star or spokesman or somehow more credible then any of the playstation gum smackers going "wow dude, do you know who that was?... George Carlin" ahhhhhhhhhhhhh ha ha ha, yeah it was a joke. i went out to protest then i was so pissed at the idiots there. i started protesting against stupid young protesters that think because their dad was steven spielburghs hippy buddy they got some kind of obligation to the planet to be stupid playstation hippies going no blood for oil, but all of them with parking stubs in their back pockets from driving and parking there? What a fucking joke, at least in the sixties they had real poets, real drugs, real sex, and some descent spokespeople that halfway sounded interesting

Good topical, socio-political poem, Jrm. It matters not how ridiculous antiwar protesters look, I'm more interested in their collective perspective for America and the world than that of Rumsfeld and Wolfowitz.

Yes, Yes, quite true. I was hoping for the hippie ways of sex, drugs, and peace to come back and say "hell no we won't go!" but no. -10-

I was hoping to hear or see a strategy motivated and properly represented by some poets and students that were informed, but instead i found homer simpson trying to seduce alanus morrissete. It was perturbing. it's this easy.

1. Gay, rich, radical islamic freaks in desert blowing up kids and running around with ak's and bandannas + oil+ nasty weapons+hatred towards women and masogenistic rockings back and forth forever= -=bad day at the movies=-

2. evangelical christian retard capatalistic reservative homosexual frat boys speaking in tongues+ look at me daddy+ oil+power+a military machine that must be started and worked at least every decade lest it lose it's pattern and strength- colonizing atlantian ancestory X big business = -= empty drive in theatres everywhere=-.

It's always been this way.
Sadam and his sons are doomed.
George and George are doomed.
the french are pathetic.
The germans? yeah.
the chinese are scary.
the koreans? scariest.

Sometimes if you want to scary kids to leave you alone you grab one of their tough scary peers and you beat them so bad no one will ever fuck with you. now that's how you make america safe. in chess terms it was our only move people. don't be fools. that regime had to come down otherwise iraq would just be handed from dictator to dictator, why should he smoke drink, fuck have seven palaces kill 200,000 kurds have a son that rapes 12 year olds and visiting guests? America has all the oil it ever will need in alaska mexico, southamerica and canada come on, and bush? the worst that can happen is, he leaves the whitehouse in six years. tada! so quit fucking WHINING! Your lucky he had the balls to do this, while clinton let it get this bad to begin with, with his balls in everyone elses mouth. Their are mexicans trying to convince border guards right now to let them fight in trade for citizenship. now that says a lot. America is a great fucking country, we have fast cars, drugs, music opportunity up the ass. where else in the world can you be a whore-poet-artist-singer-firefighter (volunteer)-musician--writer-actor-producer-soccer player-ventriloquist-starshiptrooper-janitor-greekgod-poppyfarmer? that's right motherfuckers kiss my red white and blue american ass. ANARCHY!!!!!!!

So it's ok to invade Iraq 'cos we got rid of an evil dictator? If that's the case are we now obliged to rid the world of Gaddafi, Kim Jong Il, the Iranian Ayatollahs, Yasser Arafat? Anyone else who displeases the US and its poodles? Bad arguemnet, Horus8.

I never said it was okay. You are not aware enough to see the truth. You are just going through your instinctual emotions, that's cool, but I don't think horus8 was picking sides here at all. He was exposing a filter for what it was, a filter. Whether it's the news, videogame, propaganda, flyers, food from heaven, as long as it disturbs you? It will beat you every time, so don't let it.
