Re: Jericho by goldfish 10-Jul-02/6:55 PM
Though it has uneven purpose
And never perfect meets
No matter how one interprets
It ranks with early Keats.
Re: Summer Vacation by weeb 12-Jul-02/11:18 AM
A very modern epigram,
But moreso joke than poem;
A guy who couldn't give a *care*
Will find himself at home.

Ill-writ, ill-tuned, ill-timed, ill-bred, sans feet or hands, without a head.
Re: Winter Nothings by Eric Johnson 29-Jul-02/12:02 PM
Though comma's are oft, overused,
And subject matter self-enthused,
You have a good poem otherwise,
As expiration elegance denies.
Re: Advice Given On Drama by Blake 30-Jul-02/3:10 PM
I draw a line between disliking someone's poetry and attacking them personally. A moment ago, your "review" was in front of me. Now it is behind me. One cannot compare Da Vinci to Dada. When I read Ginsberg or cummings, I can feel empathy. With your work, I simply can't. When you compare yourself to great artists, you seem to want respect... To display a vision to the world. Somehow, something, be it divine intervention, the ghost of Keats, or just plain common sense, tells me you aren't quite accomplishing that. Responding to me in a manner reminiscent of a low-rent Andrew Dice Clay won't get you any closer to it. I'd like to thank you for your time, (A great deal of which must have been spent to think of a way to involve calcium-rich leafy greens.) and wish you luck.
Re: Unfinished by Blake 16-Aug-02/9:03 AM
I simply prefer the language...I have yet to find a modern poet who I connect with as well as "old dead farts".
Re: My Angel by emilys369 16-Aug-02/9:13 AM
I hadn't gotten around to looking at your work before, Emily...Nicely done!...I'm curious..how long do you usually take to write?
Re: I SHALL NOT by pitchblackdisaster 17-Aug-02/1:01 PM
You have much potential. Keep writing, refine your technique, and don't let people as muddled as Horus stand in your way.

Sparse, but effective.

Re: setting the record straight on April by poetandknowit 17-Aug-02/8:19 PM
This sounds like something Danny DeVito might say in response to a poetry reading...point made, but with the delicacy of a sledgehammer.
regarding some deleted poem... 17-Aug-02/8:27 PM
Very well written...those who work in modern style should look to work like this, that crosses boundaries of form, by intensity of feeling, connectibility, and depth.
Re: A Voice Found by Blake 18-Aug-02/7:06 AM
I hoped someone would ask...this is a recalled memory of the age of six...I wasn't trying to make it Joycean, per se. It's a personal catharsis poem, which has apparent contradictions as a result of what wasn't directly mentioned. I posted it to see how it would fare stylistically. Before I remove my work, to revise it, I was wondering it you had any recommendations. (I fully intend to write magazine-worthy iambic pentameter.)

Perhaps we should get in touch by email?
Re: "On My Love" by Blake 18-Aug-02/8:05 AM
Haha...now you're just silly.
