Daddy's Little Girl (Free verse) by daveslady
I know I haven't said it lately, and I don't say it enough, But Thank You for all you have done. You love me even when I'm bad Keep me from harm whenever possible You're that little voice inside telling me what to do and where to go You make me feel warm and safe inside Loved like an only child You love me so much that you have created this magnificent place for me to live Just for me to enjoy and to remember how much you care about me Everything is as beautiful as you could have created it, you gave me my senses to enjoy your offering. Thank you for taking care of my mother and my daughter, and for the idea of being able to see them again one day. There are no words to describe how awesome you are The fact that you have never walked away from me no matter how hard I try to pull away. There you are right beside me, arms open wide begging just to hold me. I love you with my life, which is really all I have to give. Thank you for being my Dad, and I hope to make you proud with the things I do and say. I will try my best, but please remember that I am only human and will mess up often I can't wait for the day that you and I are reunited and I can come live with you forever. You are my loving Father... and I thank you for that

I admire your courage in positng this sentimental and personal message on a poetry site fraught with ravaging wolves. When they come to devour, remember you are stronger.

Don't misrepresent us, hypatia. We're all as gentle as lambs, daveslady, as you would see if you'd care to accompany us up to our apartments where we've got fresh iced tea and really state-of-the-art hi-fi systems waiting.

And off to grandmother's house we go.

Somebody who actually was stronger wouldn't need to tell themselves they were stronger. Telling yourself you're stronger is like telling yourself you can achieve anything if you set your heart on it: mealy-mouthed blubbering fiddle-faddle for spineless duncecombes to cling onto instead of facing the fact that the world isn't a special magical secret garden of faeyrieyes and smiling toadstools where everyone loves everyone else and they all write each other gushing friendship notes on Anne Geddes note-paper. Thanks!

Poeme review: Weepy prose with arbitrary line breaks =/= poetry.

Poor egotist, wolf angel of darkness, you have no way of knowing you’re as good as anyone going. Your poetry is funny, witty and clever, though seldom charming. See, it’s just that easy to find something true and nice to say. Or is it necessary to lurk at the edge of the herd, looking for the young, the neophyte, the weak, sensitive or wounded to devour. Your work stands well on its own, you know.

Don't be such a simpleminded boob. My poemes are unbelievable guff, just like all poetry. However, the real guff is your tedious amateur psychology. No, wait, the real guff is all poetry. Thanks!

If every poem is guff, then every satire a trivial twist, every comment a waste of time, and every poet a deluded fool.

The true question here is: Are you really Dave's lady? And if so why would you represent yourself in an oddly public setting such as poemranker as the property of a man? Are you so hung up and emotionally connected to this Dave that you have lost any sense of individual self and simply become 1) your gender (in this case lady) and 2) an extension of someone else (in this case Dave)?

good ? from poetandknowit. I'm often called dave's woman by him and his friends when I call or go to his house. So, when i signed up to this website it was an easy title for me to use. The simplest one that came to mind first. I, however, know that I am not property and refuse to be treated as such. This tile is more of a joke among friends rather than a tile. But thank you for your concern and if i knew of a way to change my name without loosing the scores and comments I may have very well thought about doing so.
