I tell you I think that life is a bore.
You preach to me like some small child.
I am wrong, you say.
Life is still good.
God will help you.
I laugh at you, and you frown.

Well, where was your God when my innocence died?
All those years ago.
Still a child.
Where was your God then to protect me?
Obviously he was too busy to help...

Your God is a lie!
Your God is a fake!
Will you now burn me at the stake?
For telling you the truth.

the bashing of religion on this site just amazes me... first of all - it is not God who causes children to be molested, young people to die or any other evil that goes on in this world - man allows his faith to be so weak that evil seeps in and takes control. You wonder where God was - He was holding your ungrateful, weak, faithless ass up, not allowing evil to take that final step of control.

God is simply positively charged atoms working in a universe of strings. You don't have to perpetuate your money or children or control to understand god is not having to control anything. You should study up on some budhism and get with it. This christian god thing is as pathetic as the pagan green man all the way to the egyptiand ra to jesus, to budha, to the garden the floods the angels the space men the krishna it's all the same, it wasn't until the fucking jews decided to starrt writing it all down the way they wanted to in order to regain control of the women and their goddess religions that shitted started to go south. I bet you haven't even read the bible? What's amazing is that you believe a magical super-being swooped down to planet Earth and took on humanoid form. You also believe that this pseudo-earthling was the SON of god AND was god at the same time, you also believe He had various special moves like the ability to walk on water, the ability to make small quantities of bread and fish become large quantities of bread and fish, and some other completely arbitrary and indiscriminate powers - like the ability to heal certain random cripples he happened to bump into (but not the ones He didn't bump into because they were naughty) and the ability to bring someone back from the dead even though that person would have been in Heaven or Hell at the time, and if they were in Hell then their eternal damnation wouldn't have been very eternal, and if they were in Heaven, why would they want to be brought back to life anyway? You also believe that despite the fact that this humanoid was supposedly omniclever, He still prayed to God (aka Himself), to beg for an alternative to crucifixion, even though anyone who was omniclever would already know the answer to such a prayer, and anyway, why pray to yourself? Your comment doesn't address the issues put forward in this poeme in anywhere near a satisfactory way. The way I see it, the poeme is trying to say that if there truly is a benevolent Jesu - as the Bible claims - then He probably wouldn't condone child molestation on an unreasonable scale. However, child molestation exists, and given that Jesu (if He existed) would have the power to stop it, why doesn't He stop it? And why does He manufacture child molesters in His secret laboratory in the first place? And don't say "free will" because it is perfectly possible to have a world without child molestation that still has free will. Do you molest children? Do you have free will? If God is willing to intervene in order to hold this particular victim's "faithless ass up, not allowing evil to take that final step of control", then why isn't He willing to go all the way and magically generate a force field around the child's buttocks that wards off molestation completely? Hmm? What is also amazing is that there is a staggeringly simple answer to all these problems: The Bible is a complete load of balls. Thanks.

Believe what you will - it's your right. And since I'm not going to through with meaningless banter on whose right and whose wrong, I agree to disagree with you on all points. As far as your comment on being a child molester - be very careful on this point - I am a survivor of child abuse - it is something I live with every day - every moment of my life and any other survivor will be as offended as I with your offensive remarks. Conversation over.
You can tell somebody isn't thinking when they start a comment with "Believe what you will - it's your right". What an utterly pointless thing to say. Next time you think about saying that, ask yourself what you think it will achieve. Since this discussion has NOTHING to do with whether or not I have a right to believe something, don't you think it's rather bizarre that you would start off on that track? Good Christ I hope so.
And as for your refusal to engage in what you call "meaningless banter", I can only say I'm not surprised you're unwilling to defend your beliefs though I am rather bemused as to why YOU think putting forward a rational defence of your beliefs would necessarily constitute "meaningless banter". God believing or not, as a victim you should be able to relate to his anger and disbelief. Instead you berate Pervy Elf for his lack of faith, saying that what happened to him happened because mans weak faith allows evil to do its dirty work? Was it your weak faith that lead to your molestation fair12? Was it your punishment for not having the correct amount of strength in your faith? You also say that god was there "not allowing evil to take the final step", when Pervy's angst exists because "god" DIDN'T prevent evil from taking the final step... Your reaction to this poem made no sense what-so-ever. Did god prevent your molestation? Or did he leave you to be molested when you were just a child? Okay, first off, I'm not a guy. I'm most definately a girl...but that's not the point. I just want to clear some things up about this poem since everybody seems to be so up in arms about the damn thing. Let's make this clear, this is *just* a poem. What people may interpret from the contents is thier right, but do not berate them for it. Yes, I understand that at first glance I seem to be 'bashing' God. I never did that. The lines "Your God is a lie/Your God is a fake" are refering to that persons ideal of thier God. Contents of this poem are for those who feel that they must push thier beliefs onto others in an attempt to make thier logic appear concrete. It is quite illogical for an all-powerful being to be able to make our lives better just because we believe in him. From a logical standpoint, it doesn't make sense. Note, nowhere have I discredited God's existence or blatently ridiculed anybody for thier beliefs.
Secondly, I never stated that I was molested as a child. If you happened to read my poem and discern that fact, then I am grateful that you may have been able to somehow relate to my poem. I appologize if I have misslead anyone. I am very saddened that this forum was not used as a place for *constructive* criticism for my poetry, but a place where others are subjected to malice for thier beliefs.

To that persons ideal of their god? wtf? Every religion/person has their little variations on their "ideal" concerning God... But those two lines, no matter what, is bashing God... Unless the reader in question agree's that God is a lie/fake. And no, you never said you were molested as a child, but fair12 DID claim that.. Perhaps I'm wrong, but this part of your poem clearly relates to faith12, whether you were molested or not: "Well, where was your God when my innocence died? All those years ago. Still a child." I never named what killed your innocence, so I haven't misinterpreted your poem at all. Also, you did deny gods existence in your poem: "Your God was never real!" Look, its obviouse that your playing this VERY safe.. PC Damage control. It doesn't do any good to deny that you bashed god and denied/discredited his existence, specially since the poem proves that you have. The purpose of your poem has no real relation to what you claim: "Contents of this poem are for those who feel that they must push thier beliefs onto others in an attempt to make thier logic appear concrete." Since the poem cleary conveys a personal issue with god. As for constructive criticism? Your poem is beyond help, if you ask me, the only way to improve it? Is to rewrite the entire thing. No one is really suffering here.. or atleast I hope no one takes the internet that seriously to the point of suffering when someone makes a blunt comment against their religion.
