Joe is Dead Now (Free verse) by Freethinker1602
That smile meant so much to me The way you smiled comforted me My hand seemed to fit so perfectly in yours Now the only thing I'll see of you Is a tiny picture I'll keep close Close to my heart I won't believe that you are gone It's too much to accept Because we'd planned forever You knew who I was I loved you and now I can't say it I love you and now that I know what tomorrow brings I'll remember you Forever and think about Who you were every day Stay close to me Joe And I'll never forget you jmv

Joe is my late boy friend. I am still quite in love with him. he is known to many as Redneck Joe. My friend, Jessie, introduced us. He died while he was at work. He was working on July 19 at the Country Club right off of Bradock road. The cherry picker he and Pete were in tipped. I knew pete too. He was 19.

Okay I was refering to the poem, not to me. Make it apparent in your writing not in commentary. Side comments mean nothing as a poet, its the body of the poem that matters.

imp, if you worked that into the lines of the poem, the sorrow would cut deeper.

Jesus, you're good. You should write eulogies for a living. The funeral companies would love you. For every person they buried your poetry would kill nine more in the process.

Try flowers, they smell good and contrast well against black back drops.
