Wise Clogg! (Limerick) by -=Dark_Angel=-, P.I.
A bebop singer's shoe Was, then did, times two. For the Clogg had heard his Master's words: "Shoe-be-do-be-do."

Up the ladder: Holly
Down the ladder: non ars poetica

It really made me chuckle and put a smile on my face. Thanks

I don't believe there are so many negative votes on this. It couldn't possibly offend the sensitive sensibilities of a teenage girl.

I think they are 'revenge votes'. I often notice that following one of the frequent, and frankly baffling, attacks on my good name in the comments section, my poemes get bombarded with low votes. I think it is one of the great tragedies of society that people have to resort to such childish measures in one last desperate bid to 'save face'. I bet they all have stupid faces.

I concur with Beakism. A decent effort DA; it raised a chuckle from myself and so I bestow you with a 7.

doesn't quite fit the form, but it's cute.

Poor and inane - 3 points, and only because you did at least include some kind of structure. Oh, and as a professional bebop saxophonist, I implore you to stop embarrasing yourself by displaying the vast gaps in your knowledge - "shoe-be-do-be-do" is utter bollocks. Proper bop scat singing goes something like this:
"Oo-bop-eel-ya-da, bop-sh'bam, a-klook-a-mop". Show some respect, you cock-knocker.

Wrong. All bebop goes "shoe-be-do-be-do."

You are laughable, to be sure. Not only are you an ignorant simpleton, but you also attempt to defend your ignorance, thus rendering you an even bigger clown. Have you ever even listened to Charlie Parker or Dizzy Gillespie? If not, buy a copy of Charlie Parker's 'Ko-ko' to give you an idea of what REAL bop sounds like, and while doing so realise that it's foolish for an amateur such as yourself to dabble with the great art-forms. Leave it to us professionals, kiddo.

Then you, Sir, are a cadlington of the First Class. I'll thank you to take your idiotic comments and questionable heritage elsewhere. This isn't some sort of communal trough for the working classes. Good day to you, Sir!

Bugger off, you pedantic, pretentious, faux-literati bourgeois-intellectual simpleton! Your work is overblown, poorly written filth, you have the manner of a stuffed turkey and you, sir, are testing my patience! Begone, before you have the nerve to submit any more of this kind of doggerel again!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know which would be worse: if you're being serious, or if you're 'playing along' but that's the best you can do.

(in tone suggesting mock submission) You cannot begin to imagine how threatened I feel...
Keep trying, bub!
