black dog (Free verse) by wilco
Coarse hair of black and brown
Confiding in the lamplights glow.
Home was somewhere long ago;
Remembrance coming loosely.
Rain and cold they slow the blood
and make for awful company.
Oil slick and chasing shadows;
befuddled by the rainbows.
Red on black and silent still,
She never saw it coming.
