Drunk and Fucked Up

I think you've had too much to drink. Stumbling closer to the brink. Everyone is watching now. Everyone is gathered 'round. Maybe when they turn their heads, I can take you home to bed. Shake the spiders from my mind and let it eat me up inside. Another late night serenade to all the bad choices we've made. You'll figure it all out sometime soon. I already have but I just don't care Because baby, I'm drunk and fucked up too. Somewhere somethings out of tune and the auroras coming soon. Take a walk down the dark end of the street until we both admit defeat. Smoke a last-chance cigarette, and make another stupid bet. Another desperate attempt to find another line and let it ride. Another late night serenade to all the bad choices we've made. You'll figure it all out sometime soon. I already have but I just don't care Because baby, I'm drunk and fucked up too.

great hook with seranade

I don't like the verb agreement here:
"Shake the spiders from my mind
and let it eat me up inside."

I know that you could mean "it" is something else, but its not intuitive - save the trouble of deciphering and make the quantities agree, imho.

This sounds and feels singable and sad. I can hear it late in a smoky Tennessee bar, a guitar man strumming, and me thinking of all the bad times. Hit me with another chorus Wil.

The 'it' in the the second verse, what is 'it'? There's no correlation. I particulary like the aurora & the cigarettes.

Lyrically, call Ryan Adams. But poetically, I think it's lacking. Maybe I just subconsciously reject the use of the word "baby" in its slang context in a work of poesy. Hm.
