if everyone is suggesting (and i'm new here totally loving this)... but i'd suggest "masquerades" or "will attire" although attires could be choppy. or maybe "ensembeles".
i don't know. it does stick there but i get the point. depending on your delivery and all... could be just perfect the way it is.
my two sense.

i like it. i'd like to suggestive you use a descriptive for the dream because i think it would make that stanza more interesting, but other than that... i think it's very good.
really liking the second stanza a lot.

really? this seems funny to you guys? i am seriously surprised.
this is TRUE... my mom is terminally ill from having undergone radiation for cancer 20 years ago.

i believe i recognize this from live journal... (in case you'd remember me i was decidedly_duffy and was doing the 100 poems thing on lj the same time as you)...
so anyway. i love this one. esp. the last bit. makes me smile. and am happy to see you again!

Got better - hooked me more toward the end. My 2 cents. Good first couple of lines though, so got me interested. :) Some reworking and this could be killer. I dig the message. Nice work!
