To Stephen Robins, it is pretentious to use any phrase, which is not colloquial in certain circles and seen by them as smutty, fantastic, and original. It cannot be expected that he will any day soon become articulate. Yet, it is possible that after a discipline of long evenings reading good literature, he might advance a step or two toward the tragic enchantments of CLS.

To answer your question, we do not write poems about the atrocities of radical Islam because we are all bleeding liberals who oppose Bush. To say that they are scum in need of obliteration is simply not politically correct. To say that itâs likely we have to kill ten innocent people in order to kill one scumbag is simply not acceptable. In my poem, should I write one, the number would be 100. itâs the way war has always gone.

Then why is it that nobody seems to mention such things in their poems. All we ever get is bleeding hearts saying oh those poor Iraq people who danced in the street with joy on 9/11 and during the London bombings. Here's a newsflash: Countries do evil things to each other all the time. Why is it you wine more about our country more than yours? Americans never complain alot about any other country than their own. Maybe you just secretly want to be American.
That's the stupidest metaphor mixed or not that I've ever heard.

i suppose i will explain this poem a bit, it was inspired by On the Road. As a nod to the book it was written stream of conscience and the last line and some of the imagery about the eyes are from the book (it is also named after the narrator). i liked that after 300 pages of traveling sal falls in love and settles down in a couple sentences. so this was an exploration of that moment, a revision would almost definitely help it because it was written so quickly, and sorry for misspelling manhattan.

I should say more of post-death Martin Luther-King. The colour really drains out of those big blubbery cheeks.

The gravity image seems awkward in this setting, since gravity would drop the person rapidly into the fire. And why would the devil object to the "game"?
I'm voting 10 only to balance the obnoxious Edna.

I found a glove along the road and wonder if itâs yours. Itâs worn and soiled, but soft of leather and pliable when worn. Finding its mate would be like looking into eyes I never expect to meet, and would surely cause my legs to refuse to move. Though I might think, âbeauty gazing down from aboveâ I would not say it, for coynessâ sake. Nor would I agree so readily to madly love, when so much time remains to savor it. And I would spell it, âManhattan.â

No one with a brain in his or her head wonders why the USA is sticking its evil head into the Middle East cauldron. However (to mix metaphors) the birds may come home to roost and crap upon the USA in terms of 9/11 part 2.

Chemical weapons are those funny things which nice military people send over to their enemies; you know, poison gas and stuff like that. And guess who sold them to Saddam. Yep! Uncle Sam-stein.
