The True Irony (Free verse) by thepinkbunnyofdoom
Written by Jason ~ James Subconsciously I lay conscious Thinking of This Unaware of my being Drifting from myself Yet fully aware of my pain Chaining me to my misery How can this be? Such Irony I drift away This Suffering Lying perfectly still Buried in Memories Burned Hurting of a love that never existed So why do I miss it Praying for a happiness that can never be Dreaming Then I wake up To Watch the Shattering Some time later Beneath the Silence Screaming of a burning sun There is this Hunger Deafening my already burst ears Forcing me to swallow These fears are merely doubts Doubts I can't put down Closing my eyes Wide Shut To see Beyond this Point With my mouth Wide Open Trying to Scream No Sound arises Curtains Close Lights Fade And I wake from this dream

Up the ladder: How we found Jesus
Down the ladder: The Morning Star

You're not supposed to put your own poems in your favourites list.

Well you can, but it makes you a tool.

Tool rocks.
True, but tools are useful and this is only half written by me

I can feel what's going on here, and for that a 8, but some lines like "eyes Wide Shut" and "Deafening my already burst ears" are snatched or don't make sense.

James's Writing Style Obviously, but they do make sense, they are about overwhelming sensations.

The easy line here would be "Too bad this poem wasn't an overwhelming sensation." I choose the high road.

I just couldn't get my arms around this one. Maybe some line breaks, maybe some compartmentalization - dunno.

After reading the comments, I considered reading this.
Then I thought better of it.

A very wise Idea indeed.
