Mother Earth (Free verse) by DewDrop
In sun scorched Nicaragua Malnutrition is one in eight child's middle name They farm coffee beans for peanuts And we pay 3 dollars a cup. A film star and his film star wife, a nobody from the valleys Are in the High Court, they've been wronged, someone took photos at their wedding show You can see the point: They'd sold the rights for a million or so. Another rain forest is cleared for cattle And BK sells the flame-grilled fodder to the troops in Kuwait Hey, nobody likes incest, especially when Nuclear Weapons are involved. Justice? Ask the grieving mother of a stillborn.

Down the ladder: The wheelchair

You need to condense the points you are making because the irony you evoke in this poem is very apt. Catherine Zeta Jones in the outback of nicaragua would be a just sentence, liked the point you so nearly made in this _____7

This is one of your more angry pieces, i have awaoke to smell your nicaraguan coffee beans and the aroma will linger for quite some time. Liked where you were going with this, but leave Zeta Jones out of it ....HELLO ! -9

Its a British term for being paid a pitifull amount. Could have
(should have?) used "peanuts" instead. Its not so much a poem really, I just watched the news last night and the three stories followed on from each other seamlessly - The sheer madness of it all struck me. Glad it make you think though, thanks.

Hope? Fear? Justice?
Systematic? Dogmatic? Pragmatic?

Great use of "Nicaragua" to rhyme with "peanuts"

Well spotted. Yeah, I also used the same cunning to rhyme Kuwait with stillborn.

Inhale that.
