Ode to a Depleted Uranium Shell (Ode) by Yardbird
Small, curved, Beautifully sculpted, A masterpiece of the modern age! Admire it's grace, It's poise and charm, A it sings through the ethers! Marvel at the artistry As it tears through flesh, Cavorting through bone and sinew! See it simmer with mirth, As its hidden 'delights' finally claim The one that 'got away'.

Down the ladder: we wear the cries

Thank you! It is very sweet of you to answer my request. I don' get the visual of 'simmer with mirth' but that is my only criticism. If you did a bit of research a bet you could come up with a real killer, ha ha. Now when I look up DU on the web your poem will come up along with 100,000 other sites. You should be proud.

Cheers! The simmer with mirth was just an idea to get across the heat of the bullet, as well as the enjoyment it might have if it were alive - I know it's a crude device, but it sounded like a good idea at the time!!!

Some days I wish it would shower us with it's envious love.

jack the rippers tools of choice. a cock, a scalpel, and of course, the bone saw. piano string the neck? indeed. but above all it comes down to charisma for money and the woman in between....sugar wins the fly, but i sir, am a mantis. praying for you. have a six. good morning, and nice tie. christmas present? exactly.

Hee hee hee. You've really outdone yourself this time, Yardbird. Immensely funny, yet a frightening amount of realistic potential
(Don't ask) 10/10

Cheers for that, m8! :) 'Realistic potential' indeed! Next you'll be spouting on about 'the hypothetical viability of discoursing on the subject of one's cogitations' Where DO you learn all this bollocks?

The action is well described, as is the projectile's intent - but the imagery is primitive.
