Two Basic Forces (Free verse) by dougsoderstrom
Two basic forces tend to mold manâs character. The evolutionary force
drives man with one, and only one, thing in mindâ¦â¦â¦ to protect his
own life with little or no regard for anyone or anything else.
Contrarily, the spiritual force moves man to consider the needs of
others with little or no regard for his own welfare. However, due to
societyâs overwhelming capacity to meld man into itself, to make of
man nothing more than a rather simple extension of its own ignobility,
manâs potential for spiritual excellence becomes subverted into
something far less gracious; it becomes transformed into a collective
force for evil.
