Spring Cleaning (Free verse) by horus8
Let me empty out the garage, and reminisce. Let me empty out the closet, and make a list. Let me empty out the house, as promised... Then let me wrap my mouth around this cold barrel & paint.

Down the ladder: Litany

I hate to be picky but the lack of reason bugs me. Failed marriage? Death? Who would be around to watch?

Sorry.

Yes. I'd still like to know the reason behind such pain. but that's me and it does work without it. I'm nosy like that.

If this helps you to cope, good. I fail to see any other use for it. I suppose the same could be said for most of mine.

Sometimes, coping through our poetry is best. Most of us do that.
Do not be ashamed. GET NUDE!!!

See, unlike you friend, this has nothing to do with me?
Why you would think it helps me cope is exactly what's wrong with your work. I don't necessarily have to include myself in my work, or my message. I approach poetry like a bad novelist. Which allows me to completely get into character without pulling a Silvia Plath down the toilel.
The majority of my work is done from an angle that allows me to not be 'SO' involved, try it.

This "getting into character" is one of the biggest appeals of this poetry thing - I do it too.

Sure, some things are true - the whole ass-raped with a jackstand thing, for example - but who can make stuff like that up and make it :believeable:?

I can't speak for Hypatia, but as for me:

Can't. That's a monster that comes with a long long line of tequila shooters that leads into a tunnel that I have seen very few return from. My poetry will therefore, suffer.

Would you like me to be less generous and more critical more often?

Lemme guess - red?

Excellent.
