-like "slabs lay scattered, defeated"; like reference to "childself," although could use more explanation; this poem depresses me a little bit, however, when it's over I want more - say more about the warmer tide fighting to escape from under the ice - the last two lines seem to get smothered under the "layers of ice."

I think your emotions need to be clarified - are you nostalgic, horny, guilty, I can't relate to what you're feeling unless I know what emotions you're experiencing. Or is that the whole point? The confusion? No judgement meant to your situation, but, if you're bored or unsatified in your relationship, don't think that cheating will help the sitution!

I finally got this poem, after reading it today. I've read it several times before, without catching on what it meant. This time, I could picture the poet (pre-stretch marked) mimicking their movements. I imagine this is a part of the poet's self that she mourns, but in all actuality, never lost.

I'll have to look this up in a dream dictionary.
Do you feel a resemblance to these characters?
Interesting that the cat played such a significant role in your awakening.
Are you guys enmeshed, or what?

Is it possible you were mistaking the hurt for deep connection?
Re: Memoirs II by http://mulberryfairy 23-Aug-03/10:47 AM
I mean, deep connection for hurt?

I wonder what a dream dictionary would say about this one!
I think it shows courage and a lot of empathy to carry the dead fox into the woods.
I wonder if you were feeling like the dead fox?
