Show me an anonymous comment.

I don't have the space (or inclination, or even full knowledge) to write a full psychological treatise on the workings of folks who hang out on poemranker, but you should be aware--

This is not just a place for you to put your poems up for your friends to look at them.

You might give poetry.com a run if you just want gobs of compliments.

And you might try learning to spell, and putting in the effort to do so properly. It's the easiest thing to ridicule, so it's often the first to go.

If you click on any person's name, you can see what poems they themselves have offered up for ridicule (or praise).

I'm with nentwined. Unless your name is really *.*ReAdY To SnAp*.*, there's no one on this site who isn't at least slightly anonymous. (Personally, I doubt that you're even actually 'ready to snap' right now.) Even Dan garcia-Black is really Dan Garcia-Black, and Fraser Allonby, Q.C. is probably not a real Q.C. If there's one exception, it's Doug Soderstrom, PhD - who, I see from your comments, is one of the people you're thinking of. As anyone on poemranker can tell you, Doug Soderstrom, PhD is a psychology 'instructor' at a community college in Texas. Does that help any?

No, probably not. And if you knew our real names, then what? I'll tell you right now my name is John Updike, and I think your poems are pretty awful. Sure, you can tell all your friends 'That John Updike is a real arrogant know-it-all,' but what good is that going to do unless one of your friends lives in the Jordanian desert and can convince the Bedouins to stop inviting me to their interminable all-male 'dances'? Honestly, I don't think they'd have much luck. The odds of you really being able to somehow publicly shame any of us are impossibly slim, bub, especially since when you find me, I'll most likely be surrounded by people who think your poems are pretty awful and Bedouins with real swords. No, that's not your M.O. You'll just use any "real" information about us to make nasty and somewhat-predictable plays on our names, like "What do you know about poetry, John Dick-up?" or "Like you can talk any, Joan Big-Dyke". Whatever. What the fuck ever.

Excuse me Zodiac but Stephen Robins is a real name and it belongs to a huge monstrosity of a fellow who wears his colossal bag fat extremely badly. It is extremely easy to breakdown the thin veil of anonymousnos through thorough investigation; that is why I can reveal today that your real name is not John Updike but Mohammed Al-Zaquari and you are merely surfing this site in breaks between car bombings. Let's consider the evidence:

You live in the Middle East
You eschew sex
You make a lot of sense

I realize that my poems might not mean a lot to you guys or whatever but it gives me a chance to express my feelings on things MY name is Lindsey and I hate it thats why I have *.*ReAdY To SnAp*.* as my name. I would also like to say that there is a lot of young poets on this site and you are making them feel like they are not wanted when you say rude stuff like that I didn't come on this site to pick a fight or an argument however I did come on this site to post my poems because I wanted to let other poets read them and tell me if they like them but then if they don't , and they would like to pur rude comments down about them then put how I can make them better because I love to write poetry and if my poems are awful then I want to know how I can fix them and make them better......Sorry for any inconvinince that I have caused but I still am going to continue writng my poems on this site....Peace out Lindsey a.k.a *.*ReAdY To SnAp*.*

Lindsey,
Here's some advice that will allow you to continue posting here and getting all sorts of advice, most of it bad. When you post a poem, never delete it as you did with your first one. If you do delete it, never replace it with a poem of the same title, as you did with your second. That just makes us think you deleted our comments because you didn't appreciate them. The best you can expect here is a few honest comments. Most are guff from the regulars who like to play around and have no intention of helping anyone. Hope you find this useful.

Rubbish, I post with the aim of helping Fraser Allongby to achieve erection. It's been difficult for the poor chap ever since he literally parped his arse off.

You must try to be more kind. He will answer with something like "Yawn," but really he's deeply disturbed.

Whatever. Being John Updike is the best thing I've ever done on this site.

Well.....If you give better poems does it get better??
Heck yes...sort of.

I started getting better after there suggestion of Ducks with AIDs... maybe you should try something different along those lines.
But what i ment was...
You'll get used to it... And, eventually, you won't get anything anymore. Atleast in my case...

Or you won't get used to it.

Do you think he called you a dicksplat because your comment came up as anonymous. On another point, I agree that Lindsay is a terrible name and especially for a girl. Your tenure in poetry must surely be informed at every step by such dire torment.

I am replying annomnously, note how my reply sheath is in a different colour indicating I am replying to you, the other comment was to that exemplary dicksplat Blind Poetry, not you, you are a nonce.

nonce is just as bad.
:)
Because your poems are rubbish. My poems are much better. Thanks!

Simply put, they can. Like super heroes and comic book villains, give a man a mask, and he will show you his truest self. Spelling is easy to fix,(Even Live journal Has Spell Check) So there really isn't a good excuse for a lot of misspellings. I doubt there is a single person here who doesn't write. A lot of users just have multiple user names(Spare Mask), by which to express themselves or to mock others(some of which may only be used once or twice, I.E. thepinkbunnyofdooom). Rather than feel discouraged, fight back. Push yourself to higher standards. You don't beat the best if you fail rise when challenged.
