My Soul is Stopping (Free verse) by somemorepoetry
My soul is stopping Past the hardware store Where I bought that Step-ladder so you could Put that picture of an Irish Setter Above the mantle piece My soul is stopping For a snack and a drink Because it has not eaten Since yesterday afternoon My soul is stopping To talk to a few friends about Taking a trip out of town for the weekend My soul is stopping But I will come back home

Up the ladder: Goodbye to an Individual
Down the ladder: The Gold and silver dress
