Lines and half lines (Free verse) by aliena
I tear the sheet Crumple Throw It into a corner. I try to write A line I write A line Scratch it out Write again Try to write Scratch it out Tear out the sheet Crumple Throw It into the corner. I chew my pen Think Of a line Half a line A longer line A complete line I write Hesitant Unsure Fingers trembling Expectant Scared A word Half a line But not a line I scratch it out Tear out The sheet Crumple Throw It into the corner. The pile Of crumpled sheets Containing just A line Half a line mounts steadily. I am stuck Cannot think Of a word Half a line A line Tear out the page A blank sheet Like my mind Blank Still struggling For words Half a line A complete line.

Up the ladder: leaning back to far
Down the ladder: Hair
