Styx (Free verse) by heartlessempath
I dipped my hands in the river Styx I shall never be clean of this I’ll wash my body till it shines, soak myself in Ambrosia, But I’ll never be clean of this: I’m withered now, and So I’ll be till the end of time 15 with hands like 50, Immortalized ugliness, I’d rather be a cripple then Carry this forever. I didn’t dare to swim across and Get a souvenir from the Land Of the dead Although, I suspect life would be Simpler if I had thought To bring the toll Once you’re in, Can you get back out? Rise from the dead and Dabble in self-necromancy And, like Orpheus, Bring out the loved one. Who must have died before my time: I never met them. Why did I go down? I’d have seen the place eventually. Time shares in Hades. Prime real-estate and cheap rates. Don’t you wish you could choose Where you spent eternity? And who you spent it with? Could I go down to Hades and Speak to Dante himself on Which circle is best? So I’m taking out ads for roommates in Eternity now. I’ll never die, and it’d be nice To make sure I wasn’t so lonely For all of time.

Up the ladder: definitely/maybe/mobius

"Self-necromancy" alone, is worthy of some poetic merit. A button, a flag, something. When I figure it out we'll raise it out of our dead bodies. Hopefully, manually.

Thank you very much! I think that was one of my favorite lines too.
