Magazine Promotion (Free verse) by nentwined
Sisyphus knew nothing of the pain that goes into the promotion of issue after issue; Each issue a rock that would take Hercules to juggle; every six months (or two, or four; or weeks, if you like) a new rock, Such that when first you thought it was enough to distract Cerberus, soon you need a Hydra and a Hero chopping heads to find for every one a willing maw Until you wonder, in idle moments (not that idle moments are allowed into your mythological metaphor of a life, inventing contests and finding very few heroes to try them) whether Homer would have written, could have written a third tale, breaking the fourth wall, of his struggles with promotion.

Up the ladder: Styx

Where the heck is GUD anyway? I liked 20% of it and that's a lot. Be like Homer, I say, write for absolutely no reason at all and try to sell nothing.

How do you mean where is it? http://www.gudmagazine.com/

It's churning along, right on (some vague sense of) schedule - our fourth issue went to print yesterday. :)

Removed the banner from poemranker because I decided I'd rather have the ranker running than a stupid ad nobody clicked on. I have the relatively unobtrusive links at the bottom, still. :)

Seeing some old faces of a sudden, and it feels good :D

Don't worry. I understood the analogies of greek mythology. Nine.

You can do better than this.

I hope so. But on that day I couldn't seem to. :)

And it's kind of tough to make worldly something I normally just whine about--sort of a system purge. But hopefully it was interesting anyway.

Thanks :)
