We reach so much it makes our arms ache Across electric miles we make the wires hum In frenzied typed-out words and thoughts we do communicate Until the din within The cables stretched does hum We read until our eyes grow dim Until a snotty film descends at 3 a m... Our eyelids droop under the glare of the electric din And unshakable haze while squinting through the cigarette smoke We try so hard to be so enigmatic We type and backslash and backspace over stuff We want to say but want it to come out just right But we won't see you In that pretty dress Tonigh
