Yellow Cake for Everyone (Free verse) by Retaliate
Baby's got cake for breakfast Baby's got water from a drum Baby's got radiation sickness Because the army doesn't care about uranium Looter's got a barrel full of cake Looter's gonna make himself some dough Looter's gonna make himself connections And then just sit back and watch the show W knew exactly where the cake was W knew the looters would know too If W really cared about uranium Don't you think he'd guard the yellow cake we knew?

Nice, that actually took me a second to get. -8- Just because I ended up laughing without really getting it until I read it a second time.

"W knew where exactly where the cake was"- You have an extra "where" in there. I like the idea, but you know the army is getting sick from depleted uranium, too, so I think "army doesn't care about uranium" is a little harsh, since most of the army is made up of normal, working class people, not the people who make decisions about uranium.

the army obviously doesn't care about depleted uranium because they have published reports claiming it has no effect on the health of the soldiers. Now don't go telling me this is why science is bad. Bad science doesn't make science bad.

Bad science is bad. There is an army scientist who has spoken up about the dangers of depleted uranium, and he is pointing out the relationship between DU and the sickness reported by veterans of the first Gulf War. But again, you are refering to the army as if it were one person with one set of thoughts.

There is also an army scientists who believes that UFOs have a secret base inside his brain, so just because one person believes something doesn't make it true.

That doesn't mean I'm defending the use of depleted uranium necessarily I'm just saying that the Army has studied depleted uranium for 50 years, and either they are telling us the truth that depleted uranium holds no real hazards or there has been a systematic subversion of science for 50 years. If the latter is true then something fundamentally has gone wrong with how our nation conducts research. You cannot lead the world in science if you are making it up. Nature does not lie to other countries and will not tell you the truth if you do not seek it.

The Army is not a single individual but it is a single concept that I think has fair use here. If Bush says something, people say, "America this morning said...". If Bush can speak for America then certainly the head of the Army speaks for the Army.

Damn, I really like the first part because it really bites as satire. the play on the cake is a great idea. Then you pull and Sinclair and make a statement at the end; become a bit rhetorical. I think you should try keeping the tone of the beginning all the way through. Keep the humor, Make it hurt.

Yeah you got me on that. I couldn't agree more. Unfortunately I'm blanking on how to fix this one.
