When will Tomorrow Come (Free verse) by kassanna
Today I saw you You stood on the edge of memory Lips curled in that mischievous grin Thoughtful eyes looking painfully into mine I thought I had forgotten you But there you were When I least expected it Today I heard your voice Our song was playing on the radio You whispered "I love you princess" And for a while we swayed with the music I listened to you hum into my ear We knew all the words by heart And I recalled every detail of our last dance Today I heard the beating of two hearts Distant echoes in perfect rhythm I tried hard not to listen But memory betrayed me I thought I was over the sorrow But a grieving heart is never silenced It's only muffled by forbidden remembrance Today I felt you You reached out and touched my soul Your fingers lightly stroked my heart The warmth was overwhelming And I felt the heat of passion I know I blushed It was the color you loved best on me When will it be tomorrow Today you have come and gone like a thief Stealing unexpected moments Giving me wishes without stars Teasing me like an apparition Seeing, hearing, and feeling your presence Only to disappear...Leaving your trace of memory Poetry by Kassanna Copyright: 2001 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------

Yes, copyright it, because I'm sure someone is just dying to steal it away and use it for their own lack of writing ability. Good luck with your writing.
