On A Cliff (Free verse) by colndodg
While standing alone on a cliff, I often wonder how deep it is. And how long I'll drop. We live so distant, so cold as ice. We are so forest for the trees. Sometimes, I stand on this cliff and leap, I jump to conclusions, I beg for forgivness I stand at the end of a cliff and pray for rain. While I stand on this cliff, I look down at clear forgotten waters, Watching waves giving in. Watching myself giving in, and falling.

Up the ladder: Ode To Mushroomhead
Down the ladder: Tawn-tastic

Why do you pray for rain while standing on a cliff?
What does stanza 2 have to do with stanza 1?
Still, some good images here.

rife with cliche. cold as ice. forest for the trees. beg for forgiveness, pray for rain. I realize that this was probably intentional, as the whole poem is about "taking that leap" off the cliff, but still, it is hard to read so many without cringing a little. 6
