insomnia (Free verse) by Bill Z Bub
Still awake. this room is so cold. my eyes must be raw. this single empty room. these tiny blue pills in my palm. a heartbeat. and thunder outside. don't. don't even think it. Lie down, framed by the open window like a camera. And everything is white now. My breath is in my head now. That body in the hallway, that's me. My mouth is open. But I won't scream. Not out loud.

Up the ladder: Haiku for Mum
Down the ladder: Moon (edit)

This is what happens when your mind wakes up but your body is still asleep. It's a common phenomena, actually. It's stopped frightening me. BTW the secret to a good garlic sauce, as it turns out, is assloads of garlic. Not a lot, or alot, but assloads.

If you removed the first bit and the title, it would be an ace ending to a tale of creeping horror.

HP Lovecraft ain't got nothin' on me.
Except of course for his superlative command of English grammar and language. Or some such.

Yeah, but I'm a minimum wage slave, and I write this shite. I think its time to become a professional student again.
Poverty is scarier than any ghost story.
