Still awake. this room is so cold. my eyes must be raw. this single empty room. these tiny blue pills in my palm. a heartbeat. and thunder outside. don't. don't even think it. Lie down, framed by the open window like a camera. And everything is white now. My breath is in my head now. That body in the hallway, that's me. My mouth is open. But I won't scream. Not out loud.

If you removed the first bit and the title, it would be an ace ending to a tale of creeping horror.
