Carson City (Free verse) by A. Nomaly
Looking inside the Financial Vat Lined with cold and gold Fired log based for support Red Ravens circle above stirred by freedom (AY!...) and Capricorned Hearts Creek is cold Too cold for this time of year Mid July It should be spurting out warm body fluids from a just cut and killed carcass That's the earth the same life breathing flesh we so privelaged people got Scarred and filled with Mysterious gases and molten material buried and sometimes seepimg between tectonic fissures movement in plates skeletal reverberation in D minor Passed out and bent down to drink Essential to remember every moment even walking up stairs or did we take the elevator. Passed Out! Slipped and fell. What A relief Never Again, Rolled over on one side, Drink and sky. Wasn't this somwhere with trees and rocks, sticks and shoes (toes cut out, strung over Telephone wire) All Natural Elements, Side Splitting Juices run Subject to caprice Dollars gained (Shadowy cloud Moods pushed by wind) Thoughts of whimsy for every fifth second passed (now heres the folly) At Will Never trust the Happy ones (see Diogenes) and to think you have no part, Dimwit

Up the ladder: Goodbye
Down the ladder: The poet
